Before you start.
- Find who bills you before anything else. Discovery+ says to sign in at discoveryplus.com, choose your profile or the Settings icon on a TV, then Subscription, and read who the subscription is billed through at the top of the screen.
- If you cannot get into the account, Discovery+ suggests searching your email for a discovery+ subscription email, which names the biller in the receipt.
- Discovery+ states that your subscription automatically renews until you cancel it, and that deleting the app does not cancel it.
- Discovery+ advises cancelling a day before your next billing date to avoid further charges.
- Decide whether a plan change would do instead. Discovery+ states that moving to a lower-priced plan takes effect on your next billing date, while moving to a higher-priced one happens immediately.

Cancel a subscription billed by Discovery+
This is the route for people who signed up at discoveryplus.com. It is the only one where the cancel control lives inside discovery+.
- Sign in at discoveryplus.com.
- Choose your profile, or the Settings icon on a TV, and then Subscription.
- Check the biller named at the top of the screen.
- In the Subscription section, choose Cancel.
- Look for the email confirming the cancellation.
Discovery+ states that if Cancel is not available on this screen, your subscription is billed through an app store or with your TV package, so the route below applies instead.
Cancel discovery+ bought as a Prime Video Channel
This is a distinct product rather than a payment method. Discovery+ states that a Prime Video Channels subscription streams inside the Prime Video app and does not include access to the discovery+ app at all, which is why so many people with this plan never find their subscription on discoveryplus.com.
- Go to Manage Your Prime Video Channels and sign in to your Amazon account if prompted.
- Find discovery+ in the Your Channels section.
- Choose the Cancel Channel option and confirm.
Discovery+ states that to change plans on a Prime Video Channels subscription you have to cancel it, wait for it to expire, then resubscribe and choose a different plan.
Cancel discovery+ billed by Apple, Google or the Amazon Appstore
Signing up inside the app on a phone, tablet or Fire device puts the plan with the store, and discovery+ cannot end it for you.
- Apple: open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, choose your name, choose Subscriptions, choose your discovery+ subscription, then choose Cancel Subscription.
- Google Play: on the Android phone or tablet where you started the subscription, open the Play Store app and cancel it from your subscriptions list.
- Amazon Appstore: sign in at amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions, find your discovery+ subscription in Your Subscriptions, and turn off auto-renewal.
- Wait for the confirmation email from the store. Discovery+ states you can keep streaming until the subscription expires at the end of the billing period.
Discovery+ states that if you cannot find the subscription in an Apple list, you are signed in with the wrong Apple ID. The same rule applies to a Google account.
Cancel discovery+ that came with a TV package
Where a TV provider sells discovery+ as a premium add-on, it behaves like a channel on that bill rather than a streaming subscription.
- Sign in to the TV provider's own account, not to discoveryplus.com.
- Find discovery+ in the premium channels or add-ons section and remove it.
- For DIRECTV and DIRECTV STREAM, discovery+ directs you to add or remove premium channels inside your DIRECTV account.
Discovery+ states that a DIRECTV cancellation ends discovery+ access immediately, and that a prorated credit for remaining time may appear on the next DIRECTV bill. That is the opposite of the usual streaming rule, where access runs to the end of the period.
What happens next?
- Discovery+ states that after cancelling you can continue streaming until the subscription expires at the end of your billing period, except where a TV provider such as DIRECTV ends access immediately.
- Discovery+ states you will get an email confirming the cancellation. Treat a missing email as a cancellation that did not complete.
- Cancelling does not delete the account or its profiles. They stay in place if you come back.
- A discovery+ subscription bought through Prime Video Channels only ever worked inside the Prime Video app, so nothing changes in the discovery+ app when it ends, because you never had access there.

There is no Cancel option on my discovery+ Subscription page
Discovery+ states directly that if Cancel is not available, your subscription is billed through an app store or with your TV package. The page still names who bills you at the top of the screen, so read that line and go to that company. This is the expected behaviour, not a broken page.
I cannot find my discovery+ subscription anywhere
Discovery+ suggests searching your email accounts for a discovery+ subscription email, which names the biller. A second cause is a second account: the email that received the receipt is the one that owns the subscription, and it may not be the email you sign in with.
My discovery+ does not work in the app even though I am paying for it
That is the signature of a Prime Video Channels subscription. Discovery+ states that a channel subscription through Prime Video streams in the Prime Video app and does not include access to the discovery+ app. Cancel it from Manage Your Prime Video Channels, because nothing on discoveryplus.com controls it.
I cancelled through DIRECTV and lost discovery+ the same day
That is how discovery+ describes the DIRECTV route: access ends immediately rather than at the end of the period, and a prorated credit for the remaining time may appear on the next DIRECTV bill. If you wanted to watch out the month, cancel closer to your renewal date instead.
I wanted a cheaper plan, not a cancellation
Discovery+ handles downgrades separately from cancellations. On discoveryplus.com the route is discoveryplus.com/subscription, then Change Your Plan. Discovery+ states a move to a lower-priced plan takes effect on your next billing date, so you keep the plan you paid for until then, while a move up happens immediately and is charged at once.
