Amazon guides you through a few confirmation screens before the cancellation takes effect. Prime Video, Prime Video Channels and other Amazon subscriptions are managed separately from Prime itself.

End an Amazon Prime membership
Prime is managed from your Amazon account on the web, not from the shopping app’s main menu.
- Sign in to Amazon and open Your Memberships and Subscriptions, or go directly to the Prime Membership page.
- Find your Prime membership and open the management options for it.
- Use the option to end the membership and work through Amazon’s confirmation screens — Amazon shows retention offers before the final step.
- Check the end date shown and keep the confirmation email.
Amazon states that other subscriptions tied to your membership will not renew once Prime ends.
Prime Video, Channels and other Amazon subscriptions
A charge from Amazon is not always Prime. Prime Video Channels, Audible, Kindle Unlimited, Subscribe & Save and app subscriptions are separate lines.
- Open Your Memberships and Subscriptions in your Amazon account.
- Locate the specific subscription that matches the charge.
- Select Manage Subscription, then use the cancellation option under the advanced controls for that subscription.
Prime received through another company
Some Prime memberships arrive through a mobile carrier or another partner rather than being bought from Amazon.
- Check whether your Prime benefit came with a phone plan or another company’s service.
- If so, Amazon directs you to that company to manage the membership.
- Confirm with that provider what happens to your Prime benefits and when.
Before you cancel.
- Check for open orders using Prime shipping, and any Prime Video rentals or Channels you still want.
- Note that your Amazon account, order history and Kindle library are not affected by ending Prime — only the membership benefits are.
- If someone shares your Prime benefits through Amazon Household, tell them before the membership ends.
What happens next?
- Amazon states that paid members who have not used their benefits are eligible for a full refund of the current membership period, processed in three to five business days. Whether that applies to you depends on your usage, so check the screens Amazon shows during cancellation.
- Amazon says subscriptions tied to your membership will not renew once Prime ends — review anything you want to keep before you finish.
- Free Prime shipping, Prime Video, Prime Reading and member pricing stop when the membership actually ends, which may be at the end of the paid term rather than immediately.

Do I get a refund when I cancel Amazon Prime?
Amazon says paid members who have not used their membership benefits are eligible for a full refund of the current membership period, processed in three to five business days. If you have used benefits, the outcome differs — Amazon shows the applicable options during cancellation. Do not assume a refund until Amazon confirms one.
Is cancelling Prime the same as cancelling Prime Video?
No. A standalone Prime Video subscription, and Prime Video Channels such as a premium network add-on, are separate subscriptions managed under Your Memberships and Subscriptions. Cancel each one you no longer want.
What happens to my Amazon account when Prime ends?
Nothing. The account, your order history, addresses and Kindle purchases remain. Only Prime benefits — fast shipping, Prime Video, Prime Reading and member pricing — stop.
My Prime came with my phone plan. How do I cancel it?
Amazon directs members whose Prime comes through another company to contact that company to manage the membership. Your carrier or provider controls that benefit, not Amazon.
Will cancelling Prime cancel Audible or Kindle Unlimited?
Those are separate Amazon subscriptions with their own billing. Check Your Memberships and Subscriptions and cancel each one individually.
