In this guide
Before you start.
- Identify the payment route first, because fizy documents four and only one of them is cancellable on its own site: card payment on fizy.com, Paycell, the App Store or Google Play, and Faturama yansit on your operator bill.
- If your operator bills you, fizy cannot stop it. fizy states that to cancel or make changes you should contact your operator's customer service. It names Turkcell Pasaj, Vodafone Yanimda and Turk Telekom Online Islemler as the operator stores that sell the package, so this is not only a Turkcell arrangement.
- Do not buy a new plan on the website while a store subscription is live. fizy states that if you buy a new plan on the website without cancelling an existing store subscription, you are charged for both.
- If you are on operator billing, note that you cannot change the payment method on the website either. fizy states users on Faturama yansit cannot change their payment method through the site.
- A store purchase is managed only in the store. fizy states that App Store and Google Play subscriptions can only be managed there, and that changes cannot be made from inside the fizy app or on the website.
- If you are changing phone number, deal with the subscription first. fizy states the account is tied to the number used at signup, and that with a new number you have to create a new account, with playlists, likes and the subscription not transferring.
- Corporate lines may not support operator billing at all. fizy notes the Faturama yansit feature may be unavailable on corporate lines.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel fizy, step by step.
Cancel a card subscription on the fizy website
This is the route for a Premium plan bought with a credit card on fizy's own site, and the only self-service cancellation fizy documents.
- Go to the fizy account page at subscribe.fizy.com and sign in.
- Under Uyelik (Membership), open Planini yonet (Manage your plan).
- Tap Aboneligi iptal et (Cancel subscription) and confirm.
- Check the same page afterwards to confirm no renewal is scheduled.
fizy states that after cancelling, Premium continues to the end of the billing period, then the account becomes free fizy with adverts, and playlists, favourites and listening history are retained. In the app the equivalent area is the profile icon on the home screen, then Mevcut Planim (My Current Plan).
Cancel a subscription billed on your operator bill
This is the Faturama yansit route, and it is the one fizy cannot handle. The package is bought in an operator's own store and billed with your phone line.
- Confirm this is how you pay: the package was bought through an operator store such as Turkcell Pasaj, Vodafone Yanimda or Turk Telekom Online Islemler, and the charge appears on your mobile bill rather than a card.
- Contact your operator's customer service to cancel or change the subscription, which is what fizy directs you to do.
- Alternatively look for the fizy Premium package in that operator's own app or account area, where it was purchased.
- Check fizy afterwards to confirm the account has dropped back to the free tier.
fizy states this feature is only valid for purchases made through operator stores, that you cannot transact with the Faturama yansit option directly via the app or website, and that it may be unavailable on corporate lines.
Cancel a fizy subscription billed by Apple
A Premium plan started in the iPhone app is an Apple in-app purchase, and fizy states store subscriptions can only be managed in the store.
- Open Ayarlar (Settings) on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap Adin (your name) at the top of the screen.
- Tap Abonelikler (Subscriptions).
- Select the fizy entry.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Cancel a fizy subscription billed by Google Play
fizy documents a Google Play route in its own help centre, so an Android in-app purchase is cancelled there.
- Open the Google Play Store app with the Google Account that bought the subscription.
- Tap Profil (the profile icon).
- Select Odemeler ve Abonelikler (Payments and subscriptions), then Abonelikler (Subscriptions).
- Select fizy.
- Tap Cancel subscription and complete the confirmation.
What happens next?
- fizy states Premium continues to the end of the billing period, so access does not stop the day you cancel.
- The account then becomes free fizy with adverts rather than closing.
- fizy states playlists, favourites and listening history are retained after the subscription ends.
- Offline listening and other Premium features stop with the subscription.
- An operator-billed subscription keeps charging until your operator ends it, whatever the fizy account shows.
Cancelling a fizy free trial.
How do I cancel an App Store free trial before I’m charged?
For a trial billed by Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select the trial, choose the cancellation option and confirm. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to prevent renewal. Check the confirmation for your access end date. If you track it in Subex, enter the date the trial converts as the renewal date and set a reminder 1 or 3 days before.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
I am being charged twice for fizy
fizy documents exactly this. It states that if you buy a new plan on the website without first cancelling an existing store subscription, you are charged for both. Check the App Store or Google Play subscription list as well as your fizy account page, and cancel whichever one you do not want, in the place that sold it.
There is no cancel option in my fizy account
That points to operator or store billing. fizy states that a Faturama yansit subscription is cancelled with your operator's customer service, and that App Store and Google Play subscriptions can only be managed in those stores rather than in the fizy app or on the website. Check whether the charge is on your phone bill or from a store.
I cannot change my payment method on the website
fizy states that users on the Faturama yansit option cannot change their payment method through the website. The payment is tied to your operator bill, so the change has to happen with the operator, or by cancelling that subscription and starting a card subscription on fizy.com instead, being careful not to end up paying for both.
I changed my phone number and lost access
fizy states the account is tied to the phone number used at signup. Changing operator while keeping the number is fine, but if the number itself changes you have to create a new account, and playlists, likes and the subscription do not transfer. If the old subscription is still billing on a number you no longer control, contact the operator that bills it rather than fizy.
My operator says the package is not on my line
Check which operator store sold it, since fizy names Turkcell Pasaj, Vodafone Yanimda and Turk Telekom Online Islemler as separate routes, and a corporate line may not support the feature at all. If no operator has it, the subscription is probably a card or store purchase instead, so check subscribe.fizy.com and your App Store or Google Play subscriptions.
Still not cancelled?Common reasons a subscription will not cancel How to cancel an app subscription
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How do I cancel fizy Premium?
For a card subscription, go to subscribe.fizy.com, open Planini yonet under Uyelik, then tap Aboneligi iptal et and confirm. If your operator bills you, contact their customer service. If the App Store or Google Play sold it, cancel in that store.
How do I cancel fizy if it is on my phone bill?
Through your operator. fizy states that for a subscription bought with Faturama yansit you should contact your operator's customer service to cancel or make changes, because it is collected through your operator bill rather than by fizy.
What happens to my playlists after cancelling fizy?
fizy states that after cancellation Premium continues to the end of the billing period, the account then becomes free fizy with adverts, and playlists, favourites and listening history are kept.
Why am I paying for fizy twice?
fizy states that buying a new plan on the website without cancelling an existing store subscription results in charges for both. Cancel the one you do not want in the place it was bought, because neither can cancel the other.
