SOFTWARE & PRODUCTIVITYSubscription refund guide

How to get an Adobe refund.

Adobe's subscription terms set one deadline that decides everything: cancel within 14 days of your initial order and you are fully refunded. After 14 days Adobe states the payment is non-refundable, and an annual plan billed monthly is not simply non-refundable but adds a lump sum of 50% of your remaining contract obligation, or 30% of the annual commitment for customers in California. The 14 days run from the initial order, not from the latest monthly charge.

Do you qualify?

  • Adobe states that if you cancel within 14 days of your initial order you will be fully refunded. This applies across the plan types.
  • Adobe states that on a month-to-month plan, a cancellation after 14 days is non-refundable and service continues until the end of that month's billing period.
  • Adobe states that on an annual plan paid up front, a cancellation after 14 days is non-refundable and service continues until the end of the contracted term.
  • Adobe states that on an annual plan billed monthly, a cancellation after 14 days is charged a lump sum of 50% of your remaining contract obligation, and that for customers in California the charge is 30% of the annual commitment.
  • Adobe states that Adobe Stock on-demand credit pack purchases are not refundable, with narrow exceptions it names: a full refund within 7 days of initial purchase for residents of South Korea and within 5 business days for residents of Uruguay, in both cases only if no credits have been used.
  • Adobe states that unused Adobe Stock credits expire 12 months from the date of purchase outside Japan, and 6 months for residents of Japan, and that unused credits are forfeited when the Adobe Stock account is terminated.
  • A free trial cancelled before its end date produces no charge at all, so there is nothing to refund. Adobe states the payment method is not charged in that case.

ASK WHOEVER TOOK THE MONEY

How to request a Adobe Creative Cloud refund.

Cancel inside the 14 day window

This is not a separate refund form. Adobe's terms tie the full refund to a cancellation made within 14 days of the initial order, so the cancellation is the request.

  1. Check the date on the receipt for your initial order and count 14 days from it.
  2. Sign in at account.adobe.com and open the Plans section.
  3. Cancel the plan before the fourteenth day rather than on it.
  4. Adobe states that a cancellation within 14 days of the initial order is fully refunded.
  5. Keep the cancellation confirmation and watch for the refund on the payment method that was charged.

Ask Adobe Customer Support

Past 14 days the terms give no refund right, so this route is for a charge you believe is wrong rather than a change of mind: a duplicate charge, a plan you did not order, a renewal after a cancellation.

  1. Gather the invoice or order reference from the receipt email and the exact amount and date.
  2. Open a support case or chat at Adobe's support pages with the account signed in.
  3. State plainly whether you are disputing a charge as an error or asking for a discretionary refund, because they are answered differently.
  4. If the charge is the early termination lump sum, ask the agent to show how it was calculated against your remaining contract obligation.
  5. Ask for the outcome in writing.

Adobe's terms name Customer Support as a cancellation channel as well as the account page, so a support case can close the subscription even when it does not produce a refund.

What happens next?

  • A refund goes back to the payment method Adobe charged. Card refunds take time to appear on a statement regardless of when Adobe issues them.
  • Cancelling and refunding are one action inside the 14 day window and two separate matters outside it. Past 14 days, cancelling stops the future charges but Adobe's terms do not return the current payment.
  • Adobe states service continues to the end of the paid period after a cancellation, so a refused refund still leaves you the access you paid for.
  • If the amount you are disputing is the early termination lump sum, it is a contractual charge in the published terms rather than a billing error, which changes what you are asking for.

WHEN THE ANSWER IS NO

If you are refused.

I am past 14 days and Adobe will not refund me

That matches its published terms. Adobe states that a cancellation after 14 days of the initial order is non-refundable on monthly and annually prepaid plans. The window runs from the initial order, so on a year-long plan it closed two weeks into the year even though you have been charged every month since. What remains is the access through the end of the period you paid for.

I was charged an extra lump sum on top of my monthly fee

On an annual plan billed monthly, that is the early termination charge. Adobe states it is 50% of your remaining contract obligation, or 30% of the annual commitment for customers in California, applied when the plan is cancelled after the 14 day window. It is charged in addition to the current month's service, which Adobe states continues to the end of that month's billing period.

I want a refund for Adobe Stock credits I never used

Adobe states that on-demand credit pack purchases are not refundable, and that unused credits are forfeited when the Adobe Stock account is terminated. It names only two narrow exceptions by country: 7 days for residents of South Korea and 5 business days for residents of Uruguay, in each case only where no credits have been used.

My free trial charged me anyway

Adobe states that at the end of a free trial the subscription begins and the payment method is charged automatically at the rate stated at the time of purchase. If the trial ran past its end date, that charge is the first payment of a subscription rather than a mistake, and the 14 day full refund window now runs from that order. Cancel inside it if you do not want the plan.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

What is Adobe's refund policy?

Adobe states that a cancellation within 14 days of the initial order is fully refunded. After 14 days the payment is non-refundable, and on an annual plan billed monthly a lump sum of 50% of the remaining contract obligation is charged as well, or 30% of the annual commitment for customers in California.

Does the 14 days run from my last monthly charge?

No. Adobe's terms tie the full refund to cancelling within 14 days of your initial order. On an annual plan that order is the one you placed at the start of the term, so the window is long closed by the time the later monthly charges arrive.

Can I avoid the early termination charge?

Adobe describes two ways the charge does not arise: cancelling inside the 14 day window after the initial order, which it states is fully refunded, and reaching the end of the contracted term, since the charge is a percentage of what remains of the contract. A month-to-month plan never carries it.

Will Adobe refund an annual plan I paid up front?

Adobe states that after 14 days the payment is non-refundable and the service continues until the end of the contracted term. Inside 14 days of the initial order it states you are fully refunded.
