Do you qualify?
- ElevenLabs states the rule as: a refund is available if a request is filed within 14 days of payment and no credit quota was used in the period for which you are seeking the refund.
- Using the quota disqualifies the request, so a month you generated with is not refundable even inside the 14 days.
- A store purchase is outside this policy. ElevenLabs states it cannot cancel or modify App Store or Google Play subscriptions, and those stores apply their own rules to charges they collected.
- Pay As You Go credits are a separate balance with their own rule: ElevenLabs states that they expire 12 months after purchase, and its refund policy does not offer to buy them back.
- If a legacy usage-based balance is outstanding, changing plan charges it immediately. ElevenLabs states that an upgrade or downgrade charges you for any outstanding usage-based balance as well as the new plan price, so that charge is not a billing error.
ASK WHOEVER TOOK THE MONEY
How to request a ElevenLabs refund.
Charged by ElevenLabs on the website
This is the only channel ElevenLabs refunds itself, and it runs by email rather than through a form on the billing page.
- Check the two conditions before writing: the payment is less than 14 days old, and no credit quota was used in the period you are claiming for.
- Email the ElevenLabs team from the email address on the account, so the request can be matched to it.
- State the payment date, the amount and the plan, and say that the quota for that period is unused.
- Cancel the subscription separately if it is still running, since a refund request does not stop the next renewal.
ElevenLabs states the eligibility rule as a single sentence with both conditions in it. A partly used quota is not a partial refund.
Charged by Apple through the iOS app
Apple holds the money for an App Store purchase and decides on its own policy, not on the 14 day rule above.
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account that was charged.
- Tap or click "I'd like to", then choose "Request a refund".
- Choose the reason for the request, then choose Next.
- Choose the ElevenLabs purchase or subscription, then choose Submit.
- Cancel the subscription in iOS Subscriptions as well, since a refund request does not end the renewal.
Charged by Google Play through the Android app
Google decides on charges it collected, and hands later requests to the developer, which here means the 14 day unused rule again.
- Open play.google.com and sign in with the Google Account that was charged.
- Click your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Budget & order history.
- Find the ElevenLabs charge and click Report a problem.
- Fill in the form, say that you want a refund, and submit it.
- Cancel the subscription in Play as well if it is still active.
What happens next?
- A refund does not cancel the plan. Cancel it on the Subscription, then Billing page, or in the store that billed you, or the next renewal still arrives.
- Cancelling costs you the credit balance at the end of the cycle, so there is no reason to cancel early in a period you have already paid for and cannot get back.
- Where a refund is declined because the quota was used, the remaining option is to use the rest of the period you paid for and let the cancellation take effect at its end.
- ElevenLabs states that a banned or deleted account does not cancel a store subscription, so closing the account is never a route to stopping or recovering a charge.
WHEN THE ANSWER IS NO
If you are refused.
I asked inside 14 days and was still refused
Check the second half of the rule. ElevenLabs requires that no credit quota was used in the period you are claiming for, so any generation in that cycle, including one made through the API with an old key, counts against the request.
ElevenLabs says it cannot refund my charge
That is its documented position for store purchases rather than a refusal on the merits. ElevenLabs states it cannot cancel or modify App Store or Google Play subscriptions, so the request has to go to Apple or to Google Play.
I was charged for usage I did not expect on top of the plan
That is likely a legacy usage-based balance. ElevenLabs states that usage-based billing is a legacy feature not available on new self-serve subscriptions, that changing plan charges the outstanding balance immediately, and that it also bills early when the outstanding balance exceeds twice your usual subscription payment.
Can I get my unused credits refunded instead?
No route is published for that. ElevenLabs states that subscription credits are lost when a cancellation or downgrade takes effect and that Pay As You Go credits expire 12 months after purchase, and its refund policy covers payments rather than balances.
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
What is the ElevenLabs refund window?
ElevenLabs states that a request must be filed within 14 days of payment, and that no credit quota may have been used in the period you are claiming for.
How do I request an ElevenLabs refund?
By email to the ElevenLabs team from the address on the account. Give the payment date, the amount and the plan, and cancel the subscription separately so the next renewal does not arrive while the request is being reviewed.
Can ElevenLabs refund an App Store charge?
No. It states that it cannot cancel or modify App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Apple reviews App Store refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com, and Google Play handles its own.
Do Pay As You Go credits get refunded?
ElevenLabs publishes no refund route for them. It states they expire 12 months after purchase, and that their dollar value stays the same when you change plan even though the credit count can change.
