Do you qualify?
- Wondershare states that most products purchased directly from it are subject to a refund request window of up to 30 days from the initial payment date.
- Wondershare states a shorter 7 day window applies to a named list of other products, which does not include Filmora.
- Wondershare states the applicable refund window begins on the initial payment date, so a later renewal does not restart it.
- Wondershare states that an order is not refundable where it is a renewal order and the subscription was not cancelled before the renewal charge.
- Wondershare states that a request based solely on change of mind is not accepted, and neither is one based solely on dissatisfaction with AI-generated output.
- Wondershare states that usage-based benefits such as credits, points, hours or characters that have already been consumed are not refundable.
- Wondershare states that a product purchased from the App Store, Google Play, a reseller or another third-party platform is not refundable by Wondershare and must go through that seller.
- Wondershare states that its 30 day guarantee does not apply to auto-renewal charges, and that on an annual or multi-year contract a cancellation after 30 days is charged 50% of the remaining contract obligation.
- Wondershare acknowledges a 14-day right of withdrawal for EU customers, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
ASK WHOEVER TOOK THE MONEY
How to request a Filmora refund.
Request a refund from Wondershare
This covers a purchase made directly from the Wondershare store. Wondershare routes the request through its own Account Center rather than through email.
- Sign in at accounts.wondershare.com.
- Open My Orders, then Order History, which Wondershare names as where refund submissions go.
- Find the order and submit the refund request against it.
- Check the date first: Wondershare states the window is up to 30 days from the initial payment date for most products bought directly from it.
- State the reason precisely, since Wondershare names change of mind and dissatisfaction with AI-generated output as grounds it does not accept.
Wondershare states that a shorter 7 day window applies to a named list of its other products, which does not include Filmora, so Filmora falls under the 30 day rule.
Use the EU right of withdrawal
A separate legal right that Wondershare acknowledges, running alongside its own guarantee rather than replacing it.
- Confirm you are covered: Wondershare states EU customers may have a 14-day right of withdrawal, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
- Exercise it through the same route: My Orders, then Order History, then Refund.
- Do it within 14 days rather than relying on the 30 day guarantee, since the statutory right has its own shorter clock.
- Keep the submission confirmation.
A charge made through a store or reseller
Wondershare does not decide these. It states the request has to go to the original seller or platform.
- Identify the biller from the receipt: Apple, Google, or a reseller.
- For an App Store charge, use Apple's own refund request process with the Apple Account that was charged.
- For a Google Play charge, use Google's refund process from your order history, noting that after a short window Google passes the decision to the developer.
- For a reseller, take it to them under the terms you agreed.
- Expect Wondershare to be consulted: it states it may share your usage data with Apple or Google to contest a refund request, including how much of the subscription or credits were consumed and its recommendation on the request.
What happens next?
- A refund goes back to the payment method Wondershare charged, and card refunds take time to appear on a statement regardless of when they are issued.
- Refunding and cancelling are separate. If the subscription is still set to auto-renew, the next charge arrives whatever happened to the last one.
- Wondershare states that once you cancel, service continues until the end of the contracted term, so a refused refund still leaves the access you paid for.
- Wondershare states it may share usage data with Apple or Google to contest a store refund request, so a store request is not decided in isolation from the developer.
- If the amount in dispute is the 50% early termination lump sum, it is a contractual charge in Wondershare's published terms rather than a billing error, which changes what you are asking for.
WHEN THE ANSWER IS NO
If you are refused.
My refund was refused because it was a renewal
That matches the policy. Wondershare states that an order is not refundable where it is a renewal order and the subscription was not cancelled before the renewal charge, and separately that the 30 day money back guarantee does not apply to auto-renewal charges. The window it publishes runs from the initial payment date, so on an annual plan it closed a month into the first year.
I bought Filmora on Google Play and Wondershare will not refund it
Wondershare states that a product purchased from the App Store, Google Play, a reseller or another third-party platform must be refunded through the original seller or platform. Google holds the money on a Play purchase. Ask Google, and note Wondershare states it may supply usage data and a recommendation when a store request is contested.
I was charged 50% of my contract when I cancelled
That is the early termination charge in Wondershare's subscription terms, not a refund question. It states that after 30 days on an annual or multi-year contract you are charged a lump sum of 50% of your remaining contract obligation, and that service continues until the end of the contracted term. It sits outside the 30 day guarantee, which Wondershare says does not apply to auto-renewal charges.
I want my unused AI credits refunded
Wondershare states that usage-based benefits such as credits, points, hours or characters that have already been consumed are not refundable. Credits are sold as separate packs rather than as part of the subscription, so a refund of the plan does not carry them, and a partly used pack is not returned.
