Do you qualify?
- Gaia says a membership purchased via gaiagps.com may be entitled to a full refund within fourteen days of purchase or renewal.
- Beyond that window Gaia says a Gaia GPS subscription is typically non-refundable.
- Apple App Store purchases are outside Gaia's control entirely: it says it does not have the ability to provide refunds for them.
- An immediate cancellation is a separate request from a refund, and Gaia says it ends your access for the remainder of the payment period.
- The fourteen days run from the purchase or the renewal date, not from when you stopped using the app.
ASK WHOEVER TOOK THE MONEY
How to request a Gaia GPS refund.
Ask Gaia, for a gaiagps.com purchase
This is the only channel where Gaia's own fourteen day rule applies, because it is the only one where Gaia took the money.
- Check gaiagps.com/user/subscriptions to confirm the membership was purchased on gaiagps.com rather than through a store.
- Check the date of the purchase or renewal and confirm you are inside fourteen days of it.
- Contact the Gaia GPS support team through its help pages, stating the charge date and that you are requesting a refund.
- Say whether you also want the membership cancelled immediately, since Gaia treats an immediate cancellation as ending access for the remainder of the period.
- Keep the written reply.
Gaia describes the fourteen days as running from purchase or renewal, so a renewal charge has its own fresh window.
Ask Apple, for an App Store purchase
Gaia says it cannot provide refunds for Apple purchases at all, so this is not a choice between two routes.
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account that was charged.
- Find the Gaia GPS purchase.
- Choose the refund request option and give a reason.
- Submit the request and keep the reference.
- Cancel the subscription in iOS Settings separately, since requesting a refund does not cancel it.
Gaia says that for an immediate cancellation following an Apple purchase or renewal you have to contact the Apple support team directly.
Google Play purchases
Gaia says that for a Google Play membership you can contact its own support team for an immediate cancellation, and Google handles Play refunds under its own policy.
- Check whether you are inside Google's own refund window for the purchase.
- Request the refund through Google Play's refund flow for that order.
- If you want the membership ended immediately, Gaia says to contact its support team for Google Play and gaiagps.com memberships.
- Cancel the subscription in Google Play so it does not renew.
- Keep confirmation of both.
Google states that it does not give refunds for most Play purchases, so treat it as a request rather than a certainty.
What happens next?
- A refund does not by itself stop the membership renewing again. Cancel it in the channel that bills you as well.
- Where Gaia cancels immediately, expect to lose access for the rest of the period rather than keeping it to the end.
- A declined request is a normal outcome outside the fourteen days, since Gaia describes the subscription as typically non-refundable beyond that.
- Keep the written decision in case a later charge has to be queried.
WHEN THE ANSWER IS NO
If you are refused.
My annual membership renewed and I did not notice for a month
If it was bought on gaiagps.com, the fourteen day window Gaia describes runs from the renewal, so a month later is outside it and Gaia says the subscription is typically non-refundable beyond that time frame. Cancel the auto-renewal now so the next year does not repeat, and note that Gaia says access continues through the remainder of the paid period unless you request immediate cancellation.
Gaia told me to contact Apple
That is consistent with its stated policy. Gaia says it does not have the ability to provide immediate cancellations or refunds for any purchases made via the Apple App Store, and that you must contact the Apple support team directly. Use reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account that was charged. Gaia's fourteen day rule does not apply to Apple charges.
A trial converted and I want the charge reversed
Gaia warns that a free trial via Google Play or the Apple store auto-converts into an annually renewing paid subscription unless cancelled before the auto-conversion date. Once charged, the route depends on the channel: Apple for App Store charges, Google for Play charges, and Gaia's support with its fourteen day window for gaiagps.com purchases.
I am being charged for two memberships
Gaia names this as a possible outcome when moving between Premium with Outside+ and standalone Premium, saying you may have two memberships running at the same time depending on renewal dates. Check gaiagps.com/user/subscriptions for everything active, cancel the one you do not want in whichever channel sold it, and raise the duplicate charge with Gaia support if it was bought on gaiagps.com inside the fourteen days.
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How long do I have to get a Gaia GPS refund?
Gaia says that for a membership purchased via gaiagps.com you may be entitled to a full refund within fourteen days of purchase or renewal. Beyond that it describes the subscription as typically non-refundable.
Can Gaia refund an App Store purchase?
No. Gaia says it does not have the ability to provide immediate cancellations or refunds for purchases made via the Apple App Store, and directs you to contact Apple support directly.
Does cancelling immediately get me money back?
Not by itself. Gaia describes immediate cancellation as ending your access for the remainder of the payment period, which is separate from a refund. Ask for the refund explicitly rather than assuming it follows.
Does deleting my account refund anything?
No. Gaia says deleting your account will not cancel any existing subscriptions, and that it irreversibly deletes all your data. It is not a route to a refund.
