Do you qualify?
- Noom says refunds may be available if requested within 14 days of your first charge. That is a window from the charge, not from when you stopped using the programme.
- Renewal charges are excluded. Noom states that renewal charges are not eligible for refunds, which covers the annual plan that rolled over.
- Noom Med has its own rule: Noom describes refunds as available unless a prescription has already been written.
- Telehealth for branded meds has a shorter window: Noom says refunds may be available if requested within 7 days of your first charge, unless a clinical visit has occurred.
- A charge taken by Apple or Google is outside Noom's policy entirely, because the money went to the store.
ASK WHOEVER TOOK THE MONEY
How to request a Noom refund.
Ask Noom, for a charge Noom took
This is the route Noom documents for subscriptions it bills itself, and the only one where Noom's 14 day window applies.
- Check your receipt to confirm Noom took the payment rather than Apple or Google.
- Work out whether the charge is your first charge or a renewal, because Noom treats them differently.
- Open Noom's support pages and click the orange chat bubble in the bottom-right corner to reach the support team.
- Give the charge date, the amount and the reason for the request.
- Ask for the decision in writing, and cancel the subscription as well so it cannot renew while the request is handled.
Cancelling and refunding are separate requests. Asking for a refund does not stop the next renewal by itself.
Ask Apple, for an App Store charge
Apple refunds Apple charges, whatever Noom's own policy says. Noom cannot reverse a payment it never received.
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account that was charged.
- Find the Noom purchase in the list.
- Choose the option to request a refund and give a reason.
- Submit it and keep the reference.
- Cancel the subscription in iOS Settings as well, since a refund request does not cancel it.
Apple decides these case by case and can decline. Its window is Apple's own rather than Noom's 14 days.
Ask Google, for a Play charge
Google refunds Play charges. Use the Google Account that was billed.
- Open Google Play and find the Noom subscription in your order history.
- Use Google's refund request flow for that purchase.
- Give the reason and submit.
- Cancel the subscription in Play separately.
- Keep the confirmation of both.
Google states that it does not give refunds for most Play purchases, so treat this as a request rather than a certainty.
What happens next?
- A refund does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it separately through the app, account.noom.com or the store that bills you, or it renews again.
- Where a refund is granted it returns to the payment method that was charged, and the timing depends on that provider rather than on Noom.
- A declined request is a normal outcome rather than an error, particularly for a renewal charge, which Noom states is not eligible.
- Keep the written decision. If a later charge is disputed with your bank, the record of what was asked and answered is what supports it.
WHEN THE ANSWER IS NO
If you are refused.
My annual plan renewed and Noom refused a refund
That matches Noom's stated policy rather than being a mistake. Noom says renewal charges are not eligible for refunds, and limits refunds to within 14 days of your first charge. The practical protection is to cancel ahead of the renewal date, since Noom says access continues to the end of the cycle anyway, so there is no benefit to waiting.
Noom told me to contact Apple
That is correct when Apple took the payment. Apple holds the money for App Store purchases and refunds them through reportaproblem.apple.com, and Noom cannot reverse a charge it never received. Check your receipt: if it came from Apple, the request goes to Apple and Noom's 14 day rule does not apply to it.
I was charged after a trial I thought I had cancelled
Check whether the cancellation reached a confirmation and whether it was made in the channel that bills you. If the charge stands and it is your first charge, Noom's 14 day window is the route, requested through the chat bubble on its support pages. Do this promptly, because the window runs from the charge date.
I cannot find the charge in my Noom account
It usually means a different account or a different channel. Check which email address received the receipt, since a second Noom account is a common cause. If the charge is on your statement but nowhere in the account, take the statement line to Noom support through the chat bubble and ask them to identify it.
GOOD TO KNOW
