STREAMINGSubscription refund guide

How to get a ReelShort refund.

ReelShort's own terms say all coin and subscription payments are final and non-refundable, so asking the app will not get your money back. Ask whoever charged you instead: Apple for an iPhone or iPad purchase, Google Play for an Android one. Both run their own refund process and decide independently of ReelShort.

Do you qualify?

  • ReelShort's terms state that all sales of coins and other virtual items are final and non-refundable, except at the company's sole discretion.
  • The same terms state that subscription payments are final and non-refundable.
  • This is why the store matters: Apple and Google apply their own refund rules to charges they collected, whatever the app's terms say.
  • Apple publishes no deadline for requesting, and reviews each request. Google decides only within 48 hours of the charge.
  • Coins are forfeited if you delete your account or ReelShort terminates it, with no refund for an unspent balance.

ASK WHOEVER TOOK THE MONEY

How to request a ReelShort refund.

Charged by Apple, on iPhone or iPad

If the receipt comes from Apple, Apple holds the money and Apple decides. ReelShort cannot refund an Apple charge even if it wants to.

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple Account that was charged.
  2. Tap or click "I'd like to", then choose "Request a refund".
  3. Choose the reason for the request, then choose Next.
  4. Choose the ReelShort purchase or subscription, then choose Submit.
  5. Wait 24 to 48 hours for Apple's decision.

An approved refund reaches an Apple Account balance within about 48 hours. On a card it can take up to 30 days to show on the statement.

Charged by Google Play, on Android

Google decides for 48 hours after the charge. After that Google sends refund requests to the app's developer, which here means ReelShort, whose stated policy is that payments are non-refundable.

  1. Open play.google.com and sign in with the Google Account that was charged.
  2. Click your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Budget & order history.
  3. Find the ReelShort charge and click Report a problem.
  4. Fill in the form and say that you want a refund, then submit it.
  5. Google usually answers within a day, and can take up to four.

Past 48 hours this route effectively closes, because Google hands the decision to a developer that does not refund.

A charge you believe is an error

ReelShort's terms direct billing errors to its support address. This is the one thing the terms invite you to raise with ReelShort directly, and it is narrower than a change of mind.

  1. Email reelshort.support@crazymaplestudio.com with the date, the amount, and the store receipt.
  2. Say plainly that you consider the charge an error rather than asking for a refund of a purchase you made.
  3. If ReelShort does not resolve it, the store that took the payment is still the party holding the money.

What happens next?

  • Apple answers in 24 to 48 hours. Google usually answers in a day and can take four.
  • An approved Apple refund shows in an Apple Account balance within about 48 hours, or on a card statement within up to 30 days. Google returns the money to the original payment method, which is 3 to 5 business days for cards.
  • A refund does not cancel the subscription. If ReelShort is on a recurring plan, cancel it in the same store or you will be charged again.
  • Unspent coins are not returned when a purchase is refunded, and the balance may be removed.

WHEN THE ANSWER IS NO

If you are refused.

ReelShort support says purchases are non-refundable

That matches its published terms, and it is not the end of the matter. The store that charged you has its own policy, and Apple in particular decides on its own terms rather than the developer's. Ask the store, not the app.

I bought coins by accident, or a child did

Say so explicitly in the store's refund form: both Apple and Google have a category for a purchase you did not intend or authorise. Google accepts reports of unauthorised charges for 120 days, which is far longer than its ordinary 48-hour window.

Google Play no longer offers a refund option

More than 48 hours have passed, so Google has handed the decision to the developer, and ReelShort's stated policy is not to refund. If the charge was unauthorised rather than unwanted, report it as unauthorised instead, which Google accepts within 120 days.

I was charged again after cancelling

Check the store subscription rather than the app: cancelling inside ReelShort does not always stop a store-billed plan. Once you have confirmed the plan is cancelled, ask the store to refund the charge that came after.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

Does ReelShort refund unused coins?

Its terms say no. Coin sales are final and non-refundable except at the company's discretion, and any remaining balance is forfeited if the account is closed.

Can I get a refund for a ReelShort subscription?

Not from ReelShort, whose terms call subscription payments final and non-refundable. From Apple or Google Play you can ask, and they decide under their own policies, not ReelShort's.

How long do I have to ask for a ReelShort refund?

On Google Play the window is 48 hours before the decision passes to ReelShort, or 120 days for a charge you did not authorise. Apple publishes no deadline but reviews each request on its own merits.

Will a refund take my coins away?

Expect it to. A refunded purchase is a reversed purchase, and the terms also allow the balance to be removed when an account ends.
