Before you start.
- Find the business name in the Activity tab. Blocking only works for a business that has already charged you, so start from one of its past transactions.
- Check how the business takes the money. Card and Cash App Pay charges can be blocked in the app; bank (ACH) debits made with your Cash App account and routing numbers need Cash App Support.
- Charges from Google Play, Apple or Amazon may not open a business profile in Activity. Cash App directs you to manage those subscriptions in the store itself.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Cash App, step by step.
Cancel with the business that charges you
This is the step that ends the subscription. Cash App states that blocking a business does not cancel existing subscriptions, recurring charges or outstanding balances, and points you to the business for those.
- Open the Activity tab and note the name of the business behind the charge.
- Sign in to that business's website or app and cancel the subscription in its account or billing settings.
- Keep the cancellation confirmation and the date it takes effect.
Block the business from charging your Cash App Card
Blocking stops a business from using your Cash App Card or Cash App Pay details. Use it alongside cancelling, or when a business keeps charging after you cancelled.
- Open Cash App and go to the Activity tab (clock icon).
- Choose a transaction from the business you want to block.
- Select the business icon or name at the top of the transaction details to open its profile.
- Select Block/unblock.
- Check the Card tab, which lists the businesses you have blocked and recently unblocked.
Blocking a business does not stop you receiving a refund from it.
Subscriptions billed by Apple or Google Play
When your Cash App Card pays an app store, the store is the business that bills you, and it may not have a profile you can block in Activity. Cash App sends you to the store's own subscription settings.
- iPhone or iPad: open Settings, select your name, then select Subscriptions. Choose the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription.
- Android: open the Google Play Store, select your profile, then select Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Choose the subscription and tap Cancel subscription.
- Keep the store's confirmation. The card keeps working for everything else.
Stop bank (ACH) debits from your Cash App account
Some businesses pull money with your Cash App account and routing numbers rather than the card. These are ACH debits, and Cash App states that ACH blocks cannot be managed directly in the app.
- Contact Cash App Support through the app and ask for an ACH block on that business.
- Ask at least three business days before the next scheduled debit. Cash App's terms state it may not be able to stop a debit requested later than that.
- Cancel with the business too. Cash App's terms recommend contacting the merchant directly to cancel the service.
Cash App's terms state that merchant blocking is only available for a business that has already made an ACH debit from your Cash App account.
What happens next?
- Cancelling with the business ends the subscription on its side. Blocking in Cash App stops future card and Cash App Pay charges from that business. They are separate actions, and blocking alone does not cancel a subscription or a balance you owe.
- A blocked business can still send you a refund.
- Blocking stops future charges only. It does not reverse a payment already made.
- To let a blocked business charge your card again, go to the Card tab, select it in your blocked list and select Unblock.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
I do not see the Block option
Select the business icon or name at the top of the transaction details screen, not the transaction row itself. If it still does not appear, close and reopen Cash App and repeat the steps, or check whether the business is already in the blocked list on the Card tab. You can also remove the business under your profile icon in Linked apps and businesses, though Cash App notes this may not stop charges if your card number is stored directly with the business. If none of this works, contact Cash App Support.
The charge is from Apple, Google Play or Amazon
Cash App states that these businesses may not show a profile page in the Activity tab. Cancel the subscription in the store: Apple Subscriptions in iPhone Settings, or Payments & subscriptions in Google Play.
I blocked the business but it says I still owe money
Blocking does not cancel existing subscriptions, recurring charges or outstanding account balances. Cash App directs you to contact the business directly to resolve them.
I want to stop every charge on the card at once
Cash App's Lock Card feature prevents future transactions on your Cash App Card, including purchases you still want. Pending transactions started before the lock still go through, and you select Unlock Card to use the card again. It is a stopgap: each subscription still needs cancelling with its business.

GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How do I cancel subscriptions on Cash App?
Cancel each subscription with the business that charges your Cash App Card. To stop that business charging the card again, open Activity, choose one of its payments, select the business icon and select Block/unblock. For Apple or Google Play subscriptions, cancel in the store.
How do I stop recurring payments on Cash App?
For card or Cash App Pay charges, block the business from its profile in the Activity tab. For bank (ACH) debits using your Cash App account and routing numbers, ask Cash App Support for an ACH block at least three business days before the next debit. In both cases, cancel with the business as well.
Does blocking a business cancel my subscription?
No. Cash App states that blocking a business does not cancel existing subscriptions, recurring charges or outstanding balances. It only stops the business charging your Cash App Card or using Cash App Pay.
How do I cancel all subscriptions on my Cash App Card?
Cash App does not describe one control that cancels every subscription. Cancel each one with its business, and block any business that keeps charging. Lock Card stops all future card transactions, but it also stops purchases you want.
Can I stop payment on a Cash App Card charge?
Cash App's terms state that you do not have the right to stop payment on a transaction made with your Cash App Card. Blocking the business or locking the card prevents future charges; a payment already made is a matter for the business.
