Before you start.
- Work out who bills you before opening anything. Deezer is sold through mobile operators, broadband providers and retailers in many countries, and Deezer states plainly that where you pay as part of a partnership you have to cancel with that partner because Deezer cannot cancel the subscription.
- Check your bank statement or receipt for the name on the charge. If it names a phone company rather than Deezer, nothing you do in the Deezer app will stop it.
- If you subscribed on an iPhone through your Apple account, Deezer states you can only cancel directly with Apple. The Deezer settings will not show a cancellation for it.
- Know what you keep and what you lose. Deezer states the account reverts to Deezer Free after the period ends, so the account survives, but any downloaded music will no longer be playable offline.
- On a Family plan, the account holder controls the subscription. A profile on someone else's Family plan is not a separate subscription and cannot be cancelled from that profile.
- Note that the steps differ by device. Deezer publishes three different paths for its own billing: one for desktop, one for iOS and one for Android, and the menu labels are not the same in each.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Deezer, step by step.
Cancel Deezer on a computer
This is the route for a subscription Deezer bills directly, and the clearest of the three device paths Deezer documents.
- Sign in to Deezer in a browser and go to your profile.
- Select Account Settings.
- Select Manage my subscription.
- Select Cancel my subscription.
- Select the reason for cancelling, then select Confirm.
Deezer states you keep Premium features until the end of the current subscription period and the account then reverts to Deezer Free. If no cancellation option appears here at all, a partner or Apple bills you rather than Deezer.
Cancel in the Deezer app
Deezer documents separate paths for iOS and Android, with different labels on each. These work only for a subscription Deezer bills directly, not for an Apple or Google Play purchase.
- On iOS: tap your profile icon at the top left, tap the Settings cog icon, and under the Subscription section select Plan management. Select Subscription details & invoices, then Cancel my subscription, then select a reason and Confirm.
- On Android: tap your profile icon at the top left, tap the Settings cog icon, and under My Subscription Plan select Manage my subscription. Scroll down to Want to cancel your subscription? and select it, then select Cancel subscription.
- Check the subscription section afterwards to confirm no renewal is scheduled.
If the subscription was bought as an in-app purchase rather than on Deezer's own site, these menus will not end it. Deezer states an Apple-billed subscription can only be cancelled directly with Apple.
Cancel a subscription billed by a mobile operator or partner
This is the route Deezer cannot do anything about, and the reason most Deezer cancellations fail. Deezer is bundled with phone and broadband contracts and retail offers across many markets.
- Identify the partner from the charge on your bill or from the offer you signed up to. Deezer names TIM and Orange as examples, and it publishes partnership pages for many others.
- Cancel the Deezer element with that company, through its own account area or customer service.
- Ask what happens to the Deezer account afterwards: some partnerships end the subscription, others convert it to a plan Deezer then bills directly.
- Check your Deezer account a few days later to see whether it has reverted to Deezer Free or started a new paid subscription.
Deezer states that where you pay as part of a partnership you need to cancel through the respective partner directly, as Deezer cannot cancel your subscription.
Cancel a Deezer subscription billed by Apple
Deezer states that a subscription taken through your Apple account can only be cancelled directly with Apple.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the Deezer entry.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
What happens next?
- Deezer states you keep Premium features until the end of the current subscription period, so access does not stop the day you cancel.
- The account then reverts to Deezer Free rather than closing, which means playlists and favourites remain.
- Deezer states that downloaded music will no longer be playable offline once the account is on the free tier.
- Cancelling with a partner may not show up in your Deezer account immediately, so check it rather than assuming the partner's confirmation is the end of it.
- Deleting the Deezer app stops nothing. The subscription sits with Deezer, Apple or the partner, not on the device.
Cancelling a Deezer free trial.
How do I cancel an App Store free trial before I’m charged?
For a trial billed by Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select the trial, choose the cancellation option and confirm. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to prevent renewal. Check the confirmation for your access end date. If you track it in Subex, enter the date the trial converts as the renewal date and set a reminder 1 or 3 days before.

There is no option to cancel in my Deezer account
This almost always means Deezer is not billing you. Deezer states that an Apple-account subscription can only be cancelled with Apple, and that a partnership subscription has to be cancelled with that partner because Deezer cannot cancel it. Look at the charge on your statement: the company named there is the one that can stop it.
I cancelled with my phone company but Deezer still charges me
Two different things can be going on. Some partnerships end the Deezer subscription outright, and others hand you over to Deezer, which then bills you directly at the standard price. If a charge is now coming from Deezer rather than the operator, that is a new direct subscription and it has to be cancelled in Deezer's own account settings.
My downloads stopped working after I cancelled
That is expected rather than a fault. Deezer states that after the current period ends the account reverts to Deezer Free and downloaded music will no longer be playable offline. The playlists themselves remain on the account, but offline listening is a Premium feature.
I cannot find the cancel option the help page describes
Check which device you are on, because Deezer publishes three different paths with different labels. On desktop it is Account Settings, then Manage my subscription. On iOS it is the Settings cog, Plan management, then Subscription details & invoices. On Android it is the Settings cog, Manage my subscription, then scrolling to Want to cancel your subscription? Following the desktop labels on a phone is a common dead end.
I am on a Family plan and cannot cancel
Only the account holder can end a Family subscription. A profile on someone else's plan is not a separate subscription, so there is nothing in that profile to cancel. If you are the account holder and cancelling, everyone on the plan loses Premium at the end of the current period.
