STREAMINGSubscription cancellation guide

How to cancel a Kick subscription.

Kick has no platform-wide paid plan. A recurring Kick charge is a subscription to one streamer's channel, which Kick prices at a flat five dollars a month in every country it supports, and each channel you subscribed to renews on its own schedule. Cancel at kick.com/transactions/subscriptions: open the Subscriptions section of your account settings, find the channel and click Unsubscribe. If you paid through Google Pay or Apple, Kick says you must also cancel in the Play Store or Apple Subscriptions, or you may still be charged.

Before you start.

  • Check what you are actually paying for. Kick states that subscribing does not remove ads and is not a premium tier of the platform: it is direct support for one streamer, in exchange for a sub badge, subscriber emotes and sub-only chat in that channel. If you expected an ad-free Kick, there is no such product to cancel.
  • Each channel is a separate subscription with its own renewal date. Kick says there is no limit to how many channels you can subscribe to, so an unexplained charge may be an older channel subscription rather than the one you are looking at.
  • Cancel before the renewal date. Kick says unsubscribing takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so it stops the next charge rather than the one already taken.
  • If you paid through a store, one cancellation is not enough. Kick warns that subscriptions bought through Google Pay or Apple Pay must also be cancelled in the Play Store app or Apple Subscriptions to avoid future charges and to ensure the subscription is fully cancelled.
  • Unsubscribing is one-way. Kick states that once you unsubscribe, the subscription cannot be reactivated to resume automatically, and returning to the channel later means starting a new subscription.
  • There is a deadline on disputes worth knowing before you act. Kick's terms require disputed amounts to be raised in writing within 30 days of the payment, and it says failing to raise a dispute in that window may waive your claim on that payment.

FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE

Cancel Kick, step by step.

Unsubscribe from a channel on Kick

This is the main route, and it is where Kick's own help directs everyone. It is also the only place that shows every channel you are subscribed to and when each one renews.

  1. Log in to your Kick account.
  2. Go to your account settings and open the Subscriptions section, at kick.com/transactions/subscriptions.
  3. Find the channel you want to unsubscribe from.
  4. Click Unsubscribe and confirm.
  5. Review the rest of the list while you are there: each channel is billed separately and renews on its own date.

Kick says the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and that you keep your badges, emotes and sub-only access until then.

Also cancel in Google Play if you paid there

Kick accepts Google Pay among its payment methods, and it warns that a store-bought subscription needs cancelling in the store as well as on Kick. Skipping this is how people end up charged after unsubscribing.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on the Android device you subscribed on.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top right.
  3. Select Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  4. Select the Kick subscription.
  5. Tap Cancel subscription and confirm.

Do this in addition to unsubscribing on Kick, not instead of it. Kick's wording is that store purchases should be cancelled in the store as well, to avoid any potential future charges.

Also cancel in Apple Subscriptions if you paid there

The same double step applies on iOS. Kick names Apple Subscriptions alongside the Play Store as a place a subscription must also be cancelled.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
  3. Select the Kick subscription.
  4. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

If no Kick subscription appears here, Kick took the payment directly and the account route above is the only one that applies.

Change the card on a subscription you want to keep

Worth knowing because it explains an odd cancellation people make by accident. Kick does not support changing the payment method on an active subscription, so the only way to switch cards is to cancel and resubscribe.

  1. Unsubscribe from the channel using the account route above. Your perks continue to the end of the current billing period.
  2. Once that period ends, remove the old payment method in your account settings.
  3. Add the new payment method.
  4. Subscribe to the channel again with the new method.

Kick warns that adding a new card does not restart cancelled subscriptions, so this genuinely ends the subscription until you start it again.

What happens next?

  • Unsubscribing turns off auto-renewal and the subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period. Kick says you keep the sub badge, subscriber emotes and sub-only chat access for that time.
  • After the period ends you lose the subscriber perks for that channel, and Kick says subscriber emotes stop working until you subscribe again.
  • The subscription cannot be resumed. Kick states that once unsubscribed, a subscription cannot be reactivated to renew automatically, and coming back means a new subscription.
  • Kick's standard policy is that all purchases are final and non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law, and this covers subscriptions, Kicks and other digital content.

WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK

If you get stuck.

I unsubscribed on Kick and was charged anyway

The usual cause is a store-billed subscription. Kick warns that subscriptions purchased through Google Pay or Apple Pay must also be cancelled in the Play Store app or Apple Subscriptions to ensure the subscription is fully cancelled. Unsubscribing on Kick alone leaves the store's recurring charge running. Kick also lists being charged after cancellation as one of the cases where a refund may still be due, so contact its subscriptions team if it has already happened.

I do not recognise a Kick charge on my statement

Kick asks you to contact it before filing a chargeback, and says most unrecognised charges turn out to be forgotten subscriptions, a family member on the same account, or a billing description you did not recognise. It also warns that filing a chargeback before contacting Kick may get your account suspended while the dispute is investigated, which is a heavier outcome than the charge itself.

I subscribed but the sub is not showing in the channel

Kick has a dedicated article for this, covering both the viewer side and streamer dashboards not registering a new sub. Do not subscribe a second time while troubleshooting: each subscription is billed separately, so a duplicate becomes a second recurring charge rather than a fix.

The streamer I subscribed to left Kick and I am still being charged

Kick says the subscription continues to renew until either the user cancels it, or the streamer deletes the account or requests a provider account pause. Nothing stops automatically because the channel went quiet. Unsubscribe yourself from the subscriptions page.

I want a refund on a gifted sub

Kick says refund options for gifted subs and Kicks are very limited, because the recipient has already received the digital content or perks. Its ordinary refund grounds, such as a duplicate charge or a charge after cancellation, still apply, but a change of mind on a gift does not.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

How do I cancel a Kick subscription?

Log in to Kick, open your account settings, go to the Subscriptions section at kick.com/transactions/subscriptions, find the channel and click Unsubscribe. If you paid through Google Pay or Apple Pay, Kick says you must also cancel the subscription in the Play Store or Apple Subscriptions.

Is there a Kick premium plan to cancel?

No. Kick's subscriptions are to individual streamers' channels, at a flat five dollars a month in every supported country. Kick states that subscribing does not remove ads and is not a premium tier of the platform, so there is no platform-wide plan.

Do I lose my sub badge as soon as I unsubscribe?

No. Kick says your subscription stays active to the end of the current billing period and you keep all subscriber perks, including badges, emotes and sub-only chat, until then.

Can I get a refund from Kick?

Kick's standard policy is that purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by applicable law, and it names the EU and parts of Australia as places where statutory rights may apply regardless. It also lists specific grounds it will consider: duplicate charges, a charge after cancellation, an unauthorised purchase, and a technical error where the payment went through but the subscription never activated. Requests go to its subscriptions team by email, and its terms require disputes to be raised in writing within 30 days of the payment.

Can I restart a Kick subscription I cancelled?

Not as a resumption. Kick says a cancelled subscription cannot be reactivated to resume automatically, so supporting the same channel again means starting a new subscription.

How do I change the card on a Kick subscription?

Kick does not support changing the payment method on an active subscription. Its own instruction is to unsubscribe, wait for the billing period to end, remove the old payment method, add the new one, and subscribe again.
