In this guide
Before you start.
- Check who bills you first. TIDAL states that if you are paying through a third party such as Apple or Google Play, you need to cancel through them directly, and TIDAL cannot do it for you.
- If you are outside the UK, EU, EEA and Brazil, understand that cancelling is not a refund. TIDAL states it will not refund any fees paid, including advance charges or payments for any subscription term, which makes an annual plan a full commitment rather than something you can exit partway.
- In the UK, EU or EEA, the window is short and conditional. TIDAL states you have the right to a full refund within 14 days of purchase only if you have not started to stream or download any content, and that once you use the service you lose the right to a refund.
- In Brazil the same structure applies with a shorter window: TIDAL states seven days from purchase, and only if you have not started to stream or downloaded any content.
- On a family plan, the account holder controls the subscription. Other members are on the plan rather than holding their own subscriptions, so there is nothing for them to cancel.
- Cancelling is not deleting. TIDAL documents account deletion separately, so if you want the account gone as well, that is a second action.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel TIDAL, step by step.
Cancel TIDAL on the web
This is the route TIDAL documents for a subscription it bills directly, and the one to use unless a store or partner took the money.
- Visit account.tidal.com.
- Log in with your log in name and password.
- Navigate to Subscription.
- Click Cancel Subscription and confirm the cancellation.
- Check the Subscription page afterwards to confirm the change registered.
TIDAL states you can cancel your subscription or trial at any time. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and TIDAL states it does not refund fees already paid outside the UK, EU, EEA and Brazil.
Cancel in the TIDAL Android app
TIDAL publishes an in-app path for Android. This is for a subscription TIDAL bills directly, not for a Google Play purchase.
- Click the heart icon.
- Click the gear icon at the top right-hand corner.
- Click Edit, then Manage Subscription.
- Scroll down and click Subscription, then Cancel Subscription.
If the subscription was bought through Google Play rather than from TIDAL, this path will not end it. Use the Google Play route instead.
Cancel a TIDAL subscription billed by Apple
TIDAL directs subscribers paying through Apple to cancel with Apple, and gives a useful diagnostic for when the subscription is not there.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the TIDAL entry.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
TIDAL states that if you do not see an active subscription within Apple, it means you are being billed through another payment method, and that you can confirm your Apple account status by contacting Apple Support directly.
Cancel a TIDAL subscription billed by Google Play
A subscription bought through Google Play is Google's to cancel, and TIDAL states it does not have access to those account details.
- On your Android device, go to subscriptions in Google Play.
- Select the subscription you want to cancel.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
- Follow the instructions to the confirmation.
TIDAL states that if your Google Play account does not show an active subscription, the account was registered using an alternate email address, and that you will need to contact Google Play support because TIDAL does not have access to these details.
What happens next?
- Access continues to the end of the period already paid for rather than ending on the day you cancel.
- TIDAL states that outside the UK, EU, EEA and Brazil it will not refund any fees paid, including advance charges for any subscription term, so cancelling an annual plan partway does not return the balance.
- Downloads stop working once the subscription lapses, because offline listening depends on an active subscription.
- Playlists and favourites belong to the account, which stays open after a cancellation. TIDAL handles account deletion as a separate process.
- Where a refund does apply, TIDAL states it is issued to the credit or debit card you provided when you activated the service, and to allow between 7 and 10 business days for the credit to appear.

How do I cancel an App Store free trial before I’m charged?
For a trial billed by Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select the trial, choose the cancellation option and confirm. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to prevent renewal. Check the confirmation for your access end date. If you track it in Subex, enter the date the trial converts as the renewal date and set a reminder 1 or 3 days before.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
TIDAL is not in my Apple or Google subscriptions list
TIDAL publishes an answer for both. For Apple, it states that not seeing an active subscription means you are being billed through another payment method, and suggests confirming your Apple account status with Apple Support. For Google Play, it states the absence means the account was registered using an alternate email address, and that you need Google Play support because TIDAL does not have access to those details. In both cases, check whether TIDAL itself is the biller at account.tidal.com.
I cancelled an annual plan and got nothing back
That is TIDAL's stated policy rather than an oversight. Outside the UK, EU, EEA and Brazil, TIDAL states it will not refund any fees paid, including any advance charge or payment for any subscription term. The practical consequence is that an annual plan should be cancelled to stop the next year, not in the hope of recovering the current one.
I asked for a refund in the EU and was refused
Check the two conditions TIDAL publishes. The right is a full refund within 14 days of purchase, and only if you have not started to stream or download any content. TIDAL states that once you use the service you lose the right to a refund, so a single play inside the window ends it. Past 14 days, TIDAL states it will not issue a refund for fees paid.
The cancel option is not in the app
TIDAL's documented in-app path is Android only: the heart icon, the gear icon, Edit, Manage Subscription, then Subscription and Cancel Subscription. On iPhone there is no equivalent for a TIDAL-billed plan, so use account.tidal.com in a browser. If the subscription came from the App Store, it is Apple's to cancel regardless of what the app shows.
I cancelled but I am worried the account is still live
Cancelling and deleting are separate, and TIDAL treats them separately. A cancelled subscription leaves the account open with the paid period running out, which is expected. Sign in at account.tidal.com and look at the Subscription page: it should show the subscription ending rather than renewing. If you want the account itself removed, TIDAL documents deletion as its own process.
Still not cancelled?Common reasons a subscription will not cancel How to cancel an app subscription
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How do I cancel my TIDAL subscription?
Visit account.tidal.com, log in, go to Subscription, click Cancel Subscription and confirm. If Apple or Google Play bills you, TIDAL states you need to cancel through them directly.
Does TIDAL give refunds?
It depends where you live. TIDAL states that outside the UK, EU, EEA and Brazil it will not refund any fees paid. In the UK, EU and EEA there is a right to a full refund within 14 days of purchase if you have not started to stream or download content, and in Brazil the same applies within seven days.
When does TIDAL access actually stop?
At the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling stops the renewal rather than cutting off the current subscription, and TIDAL does not refund the unused part outside the regions where a statutory right applies.
How long does a TIDAL refund take?
Where one applies, TIDAL states refunds are issued to the credit or debit card you provided when you activated the service, and to allow between 7 and 10 business days for the credit to appear in your account.
