Before you start.
- Know that cancelling never returns money. Marvel states all subscription fees are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits for partial months or years, and its subscriber agreement states in capitals that if you cancel you are not eligible for any refund for the current term, except where required by applicable law.
- On an annual plan this is the expensive part. The annual subscription is billed on sign-up and annually thereafter, so cancelling partway through leaves you with access you already paid for and no way to recover the balance.
- Watch for the renewal notice, or the lack of one. Marvel states that for subscription terms under one year it is not obligated to send any renewal or advance billing notices, so a monthly membership renews silently. For yearly subscriptions it states it sends one notice by email, no less than 30 days and no more than 60 days before the end of the annual term.
- Check who bills you. Marvel states it is not able to cancel a subscription where you signed up through a third party, and that it is not responsible for charges you incur where you have not cancelled with them according to their processes.
- Check your end date before deciding. Marvel states that to see when your subscription is scheduled to end, go to My Account on the website.
- If you are on a free trial, know the cut-off. Marvel states a trial is generally not available to anyone who has had one before, and that cancelling during the trial means you are not charged and lose access when the trial period expires.
- Do not expect an agent to make an exception. Marvel states its customer service representatives are not authorized to modify any provision of the subscriber agreement, either verbally or in writing.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Marvel Unlimited, step by step.
Cancel on the Marvel website
This is the route Marvel documents for a membership it bills directly, and the confusing part is that the two steps carry the same name.
- Log in to your Marvel account.
- Go to marvel.com/my_account/subscription, the Marvel Unlimited Membership Management page.
- Select Cancel Subscription.
- Click the Cancel Subscription button on the pop-up modal that appears.
- Check My Account afterwards, where Marvel shows when your subscription is scheduled to end.
The pop-up is the step people miss: selecting the first Cancel Subscription only opens the modal, and closing it leaves the membership running. Marvel's subscriber agreement also describes reaching this through My Account and Manage Membership.
Cancel by phone or support
Marvel's subscriber agreement lists contact routes alongside the web page, which is useful when the modal will not complete.
- Call Marvel Customer Support on 1-844-362-7835, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm CT.
- Or contact Marvel through help.marvel.com within the same hours.
- Ask specifically for the Marvel Unlimited subscription to be cancelled and give the email address on the account.
- Ask for the end date and for written confirmation.
- Check My Account afterwards rather than relying on the call.
Marvel states its representatives are not authorized to modify the subscriber agreement, so a phone call will not produce a refund the policy does not allow.
Cancel a membership billed by Apple
Marvel Unlimited is sold as an in-app purchase, and Marvel states it cannot cancel a third-party subscription for you.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the Marvel Unlimited entry.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Marvel states it is not responsible for charges you incur where you have not cancelled with the third party according to their processes. Cancelling on marvel.com will not stop an Apple charge.
Cancel a membership billed by Google Play
The same applies to a membership bought in the Android app.
- Open the Google Play Store app with the Google Account that bought the membership.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Select Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select Marvel Unlimited.
- Tap Cancel subscription and complete the confirmation.
What happens next?
- Marvel states the cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and that you continue to have access to the service until then.
- When that period expires, Marvel states your access to the Marvel Unlimited service also terminates. The library is access to a service rather than a collection you own.
- Offline reading is part of that access, so do not assume downloaded issues survive the subscription ending.
- Marvel states all subscription fees are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits for partial months or years, so nothing comes back.
- Comics you separately purchased are a different matter from the subscription and are archived in your account library rather than being part of Marvel Unlimited.

I clicked Cancel Subscription but nothing happened
There are two controls with the same name. Marvel states you select Cancel Subscription and then click the Cancel Subscription button on the pop-up modal. If the modal was dismissed or blocked, the membership is still active. Reopen marvel.com/my_account/subscription, work through both steps, and check the end date in My Account.
I cancelled my annual plan and got no refund
That is the published policy rather than a mistake. Marvel states all subscription fees are nonrefundable, that there are no refunds or credits for partial months or years, and its agreement states that on cancellation you are not eligible for any refund for the current term except where required by applicable law. What you keep is access until the end of the year you paid for.
I was charged without any warning
For a monthly membership that is expected: Marvel states that for terms under one year it is not obligated to send any renewal or advance billing notices. For a yearly membership it states it sends one email notice, no less than 30 days and no more than 60 days before the term ends, so check the address on the account and your spam folder for that single message.
Marvel says it cannot cancel my subscription
That means iTunes or Google Play sold it. Cancel in the store's subscription list using the account that made the purchase.
Support said they could not help with my charge
Marvel limits what its agents can do: it states customer service representatives are not authorized to modify any provision of the subscriber agreement, verbally or in writing. It does state that Marvel may provide a refund or other consideration at its sole and absolute discretion, so a request can be made, but it is a discretionary exception rather than an entitlement.

How do I cancel an App Store free trial before I’m charged?
For a trial billed by Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select the trial, choose the cancellation option and confirm. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to prevent renewal. Check the confirmation for your access end date. Add the trial deadline to Subex and set a reminder so you can review it in time.
