In this guide
Before you start.
- Find out which of four channels billed you. Picsart names the App Store, Google Play and the Microsoft Store for app purchases, and picsart.com for web purchases. Each is cancelled in its own place and Picsart cannot do it for you.
- Picsart states that you must be logged into the app store account, Google Play or App Store, that was used to purchase the subscription. A subscription bought on a partner's phone or under a second Apple ID will not appear under yours.
- Check the cadence on your plan, because Picsart's weekly tiers are the expensive ones. Its App Store listing carries Picsart Gold Weekly and Picsart Pro Weekly alongside monthly and annual versions of the same tiers, and a weekly plan renews roughly every seven days.
- Picsart recommends acting early rather than on the day. It states that to prevent automatic renewals it is recommended to cancel 24 to 48 hours before your subscription renewal date.
- Do not uninstall the app as a way of cancelling. Picsart states that reinstalling the app can erase projects, that saved projects are retained with your account, and that you should always make sure they are saved before reinstalling to prevent data loss. Uninstalling loses work and stops nothing.
- Picsart states that a subscription can only be restored on the same type of device where it was originally bought, giving the example that the Restore button on an iPhone will not work for a subscription bought on Android. The same split governs where the cancellation has to happen.
- Picsart publishes no refund window of its own. It routes mobile refunds to the store that charged you, to be processed under that store's policies, and web refunds to a request form.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Picsart, step by step.
Cancel from inside the Picsart app
The app does not cancel the subscription itself: Picsart states this path redirects you to the app store, which is where the billing actually lives. It is still the quickest way to reach the right list.
- Open the Picsart app on your device.
- Open your profile from the navigation bar and go into Settings.
- Scroll down to Subscription and select it.
- You are redirected to the app store.
- Find Picsart in your list of active subscriptions and choose to cancel it.
Picsart states you need to be logged into the app store account that was used to buy the subscription. If Picsart is not in that list, a different account paid.
Cancel a subscription bought on picsart.com
A web purchase is billed by Picsart rather than by a store, and it is the only channel where the whole cancellation happens on Picsart's own pages.
- Visit www.picsart.com and log in.
- Click on your profile photo.
- Select Settings.
- Navigate to Billing and Subscriptions and click Cancel subscription.
- Choose Downgrade to free plan.
Picsart states that Downgrade to Free Plan means the same as Cancel Subscription, so the wording is not a different, lesser action. It also states that if the button is loading endlessly you should try a different browser or log out and back into your Picsart account.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Apple bills an App Store purchase, so this route works whether or not you can open the Picsart app.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top, which is your Apple Account.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Picsart from the list.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date. On a weekly Picsart plan that leaves very little room, so act as soon as you decide.
Cancel on Android
Google Play bills a purchase made in the Android app, and cancelling it there is what stops the renewal.
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Select Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select Picsart.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Picsart also names the Microsoft Store as a channel: a Windows purchase is cancelled through Microsoft Store subscription management rather than here.
What happens next?
- Picsart states that your subscription remains active until the current billing period ends, even after cancellation, so the paid features stay for the rest of the week, month or year you bought.
- The ads come back. Picsart lists an ad-free experience among the things a paid subscription provides, so removing the subscription restores advertising.
- Picsart lists increased cloud storage as a paid feature, which means the storage allowance drops back to the free level when the subscription ends. Anything you want to keep is worth downloading first.
- Picsart lists additional credits among the paid benefits, so the credit top-up that came with the plan stops arriving.
- Picsart lists advanced editing tools and exclusive content as paid features, so premium templates, effects and assets stop being usable in new edits.
- Picsart does not state that projects are deleted on cancellation. It does state that saved projects are retained with your account and that reinstalling the app can erase them, so the risk to your work comes from uninstalling rather than from cancelling.
- Refunds are separate from cancelling. Picsart states that mobile purchases are refunded by the relevant app store under that store's policies, and that web purchases go through a request form on its own site.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
There is no cancel option on my account
Picsart states that if you do not see the cancellation option it might mean you are not subscribed on that account. The usual cause is the wrong login: a subscription bought in the app belongs to the Apple ID or Google account that paid, and a web subscription belongs to the Picsart login that bought it. Check the receipt email to see which account was charged, then sign in with that one.
The cancel button spins and never finishes
Picsart addresses this directly: it states that if the button is loading endlessly you should try using a different browser, or log out and back into your Picsart account. If it still will not complete, the store route is the reliable alternative for an app purchase, because the cancellation there happens in Apple's or Google's own settings rather than on Picsart's page.
I deleted the app and I am still being charged
Picsart states plainly that deleting the Picsart app or your Picsart account will not automatically cancel your subscription. Worse, it states that reinstalling can erase saved projects. Leave the app alone and go to the store subscription list, or to picsart.com for a web purchase.
Picsart is charging me every week
Then you are on one of the weekly tiers. Picsart's App Store listing sells Picsart Gold Weekly and Picsart Pro Weekly alongside the monthly and annual versions, and a weekly plan renews about every seven days, which adds up to far more over a year than the annual price of the same tier. The renewal period is shown in your store subscription settings next to the price.
I cannot restore or cancel my subscription on my new phone
Picsart states that you can only restore a subscription on the same type of device where you originally bought it, and gives the example that the Restore button on an iPhone will not work for an Android purchase. The same applies to cancelling: an Android purchase is cancelled in Google Play on a Google account, whatever device you now use, and an iPhone purchase in Apple's subscription settings.
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How do I cancel my Picsart subscription?
Cancel it where you bought it. In the app: profile, Settings, Subscription, which redirects you to the app store to cancel. On the web: picsart.com, your profile photo, Settings, Billing and Subscriptions, Cancel subscription, then Downgrade to free plan. A Windows purchase is cancelled through the Microsoft Store.
Does deleting Picsart cancel the subscription?
No. Picsart states that deleting the app or your Picsart account will not automatically cancel it. It also states that reinstalling the app can erase saved projects, so uninstalling costs you work without stopping the billing.
What does Downgrade to free plan mean?
Picsart states that Downgrade to Free Plan means the same as Cancel Subscription. It is the wording used at the end of the web cancellation flow, not a weaker option that leaves the billing running.
Can I get a refund from Picsart?
Picsart publishes no refund window of its own. For a mobile purchase it directs you to request a refund from the relevant app store, which processes it under its own policies. For a web purchase it directs you to submit a request form on its site. Cancelling and requesting a refund are separate actions.
When should I cancel to avoid the next charge?
Picsart states that to prevent automatic renewals it is recommended to cancel 24 to 48 hours before your renewal date. Apple gives similar advice for App Store subscriptions. On a weekly plan that window comes round quickly, so cancel as soon as you have decided rather than waiting.
