Before you start.
- Bitdefender emails you 45 days before the expiration date with renewal details and a cancellation link, so that email is a reminder of the deadline.
- Which steps apply depends on the payment processor. In Central, a My Payments tab and a Billing tab lead to two different flows.
- If the email you bought Bitdefender with differs from your Central login, Bitdefender sends a verification code to the purchase email before showing the payment details.
- Bitdefender customer service can only refund orders placed directly on its official website. A purchase from another seller is refunded by that seller.
- A subscription bought inside the Bitdefender mobile apps through the App Store or Google Play is billed by that store, so cancel it there.

Turn off auto-renewal via My Payments
This is the flow for subscriptions where Central shows a My Payments tab under My Subscriptions.
- Go to central.bitdefender.com and sign in with the email and password for your Bitdefender Central account.
- Click My Subscriptions in the left menu, then open the My Payments tab at the top.
- Click View details next to the Bitdefender product.
- In the new tab, click Manage your subscription renewal options.
- In the pop-up window, click End Auto-Renewal.
- Select a reason, then click End Auto-Renewal twice.
If you see Reactivate Subscription instead of Manage your subscription renewal options, auto-renewal is already off.
Cancel via the Subscriptions tab
This is the flow when Central shows a Billing tab next to Subscriptions instead of My Payments.
- Go to central.bitdefender.com and sign in.
- Click My Subscriptions in the left menu, then open the Subscriptions tab at the top.
- Click the three-dot button on the subscription and choose Subscription & Continuous Protection.
- In the window showing your benefits and renewal date, click Cancel Subscription.
- Choose Cancel at the end of subscription term, or Cancel immediately if it is offered, then click Cancel Subscription.
- Select a reason and click Cancel Subscription.
Bitdefender states Cancel immediately refunds you, disables auto-renewal and ends the subscription, and lists it as "available only 30 days after purchase". Cancel at the end of subscription term keeps protection until it expires.
Stop auto-renewal through Verifone (2Checkout)
Bitdefender's online store is run by 2Checkout, now Verifone. If Central will not let you stop the renewal, Bitdefender points you here.
- Go to store.bitdefender.com/myaccount.
- Enter the email address used for the purchase and click SEND ACCESS LINK.
- Open the email from 2Checkout (Verifone) and click the link inside within 1 hour, then click Continue to log in.
- Open the My Products tab and click Stop automatic subscription renewal next to the product.
- In the pop-up window, click Stop auto-renewal, select a reason, then click Stop auto-renewal twice.
If the product shows Enable auto-renewal instead, renewal is already off.
Cancel an App Store Bitdefender subscription
Bitdefender Mobile Security for iOS sells monthly and yearly plans as App Store subscriptions. Those are billed by Apple, not through Central.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the Bitdefender subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If there is no Cancel button and you see an expiration message, the subscription is already cancelled.
Cancel a Google Play Bitdefender subscription
Bitdefender Mobile Security for Android offers in-app purchases through Google Play. A Google Play receipt means Google holds the billing.
- Open your subscriptions in Google Play on your Android device.
- Select the Bitdefender subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription.
- Follow the instructions to confirm.
Google states that uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
What happens next?
- Bitdefender updates the auto-renewal status immediately and sends a confirmation email shortly after. Keep it.
- With auto-renewal off, the subscription runs to its expiration date and then stops. Bitdefender states you will have to renew manually if you want to continue.
- Bitdefender offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on renewals and new purchases made on its official website. Contact its customer service to request a refund.
- Bitdefender advises contacting it before filing a chargeback, which it says can take 3 to 4 months to resolve through 2Checkout and your bank.
Cancelling a Bitdefender free trial.
How do I cancel an App Store free trial before I’m charged?
For a trial billed by Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select the trial, choose the cancellation option and confirm. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to prevent renewal. Check the confirmation for your access end date. If you track it in Subex, enter the date the trial converts as the renewal date and set a reminder 1 or 3 days before.
How do I cancel a Google Play free trial before it renews?
Open your subscriptions in Google Play using the Google Account that started the trial. Select the plan, choose Cancel subscription and complete the confirmation steps before the trial expires. Otherwise, the paid subscription begins automatically under the offer’s terms. Uninstalling the app does not stop renewal. If you track it in Subex, enter the date the trial converts as the renewal date and set a reminder 1 or 3 days before.

I cannot find the auto-renewal option in Central
Look at the tabs under My Subscriptions. My Payments leads to View details and Manage your subscription renewal options; a Billing tab means the Subscriptions tab flow applies instead. If neither works, use Verifone at store.bitdefender.com/myaccount with your purchase email.
The product is not in my Central account
The purchase may have been made under another email address. Bitdefender sends a verification code to the purchase email when it differs from your Central login, and the Verifone route works from the purchase email alone. If you bought from another seller or through an app store, that seller or store controls the renewal.
Bitdefender renewed before I turned it off
Bitdefender's 30-day money-back guarantee covers renewals as well as new purchases made on its official website. Contact Bitdefender customer service to request the refund, and turn auto-renewal off so it does not happen next year.
My trial turned into a paid subscription
Check the receipt. A trial started in the iPhone or Android app is billed by Apple or Google and is cancelled and refunded through that store. A purchase on Bitdefender's website is covered by its 30-day money-back guarantee.
