FOOD & DELIVERYSubscription cancellation guide

How to cancel DashPass subscription.

Ready to cancel DashPass? Subex helps you find the right cancellation steps, keep your subscriptions in one place, and stay ahead of renewals with reminders.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Start here.

Cancel DashPass from the Manage DashPass page in the DoorDash app or on doordash.com. DoorDash says you must cancel 24 hours before your next scheduled payment to avoid being charged for the next period. Benefits stay valid to the end of the current billing period — but if you cancel during a free period, DoorDash says benefits end immediately.

FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE

Cancel DashPass, step by step.

In the DoorDash app or on doordash.com

Both reach the same Manage DashPass page, which is where cancelling and pausing both happen.

  1. Open the DoorDash app or sign in at doordash.com with the account that pays.
  2. Open the account menu and go to the DashPass section, then Manage DashPass.
  3. Choose the cancellation option and follow the prompts, selecting Got it at the end to return to the Manage DashPass page.
  4. Watch for DoorDash’s confirmation email that the membership has been cancelled.

Cancel 24 hours before your next scheduled payment to avoid being charged for the next period.

Pause instead of cancelling

DoorDash offers a pause on the same Manage DashPass page if you only want a break.

  1. Open Manage DashPass in the app or on the website.
  2. Select Pause Membership rather than the cancellation option.
  3. Note when the membership is due to resume so the next charge is expected.

DashPass received through a partner

DashPass is bundled with some credit cards and partner offers, and those are not always cancelled in the DoorDash app.

  1. Check whether your DashPass came from a card benefit or a partner promotion rather than a direct DoorDash charge.
  2. If so, confirm with that provider how the benefit ends and whether a DoorDash charge starts afterwards.
  3. Check Manage DashPass to see what DoorDash shows as your current payment arrangement.

Before you cancel.

  • Check the next payment date. DoorDash says you must cancel 24 hours before your next scheduled payment to avoid being charged for the next period.
  • Check whether you are in a free or promotional period — DoorDash says benefits terminate immediately if you cancel during a free period, so there is no advantage in cancelling early in that case.
  • If DashPass came with a credit card or a partner offer, confirm with that provider rather than assuming DoorDash controls the billing.

What happens next?

  • DoorDash says that after cancelling, your DashPass benefits remain valid through the end of the current billing period — unless you cancelled during a free period, in which case benefits end immediately.
  • DoorDash sends an email confirming the membership has been cancelled. Keep it in case a charge appears afterwards.
  • Your DoorDash account, saved addresses and order history are unaffected; only the DashPass benefits end.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

If I cancel DashPass during the free trial, do I keep it until the trial ends?

No. DoorDash says that if you cancel during a free period, your benefits are terminated immediately. That is different from cancelling a paid period, where benefits stay valid to the end of the billing period.

When do I need to cancel DashPass to avoid the next charge?

DoorDash says you must cancel your DashPass membership 24 hours before your next scheduled payment to avoid being charged for the next subscription period.

Can I pause DashPass instead of cancelling?

Yes. DoorDash offers Pause Membership on the Manage DashPass page as an alternative to cancelling. Note the resume date, since billing restarts then.

How do I know the cancellation worked?

DoorDash says you receive a confirmation email that your DashPass membership has been cancelled. If no email arrives, re-open Manage DashPass and check the status before your next payment date.

My DashPass came with my credit card — can I cancel it in the app?

A DashPass benefit provided through a card or a partner offer is governed by that provider’s terms. Check Manage DashPass to see what DoorDash shows, and confirm with the card issuer or partner what happens when the benefit ends.
