In this guide
Before you start.
- There is only one place to look. FaceApp states the subscription is linked to your App Store or Google Play account and that management happens directly in the store. It documents no website or direct billing at all, so a charge that is not in a store list is not a FaceApp subscription.
- Be sure you are on the account that paid. FaceApp's own Android instructions tell you to make sure you are signed into the correct Google account before looking at Subscriptions, which is the usual reason a subscription appears to be missing.
- Check the renewal cadence. FaceApp's App Store listing shows a single FaceApp PRO product at four different price points, and Apple does not label their periods there, so the renewal date shown in your subscription settings is the only reliable guide to whether you are on a weekly, monthly or yearly plan.
- Work to the 24 hour deadline. The Play Store listing states that subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and Apple advises the same margin.
- Uninstalling is not cancelling. Removing the app leaves the store subscription running, and FaceApp's own instructions point at the store rather than at the app.
- FaceApp publishes no refund policy. Since Apple and Google are the only billers it documents, a refund request goes to whichever of them charged you, under that store's own rules.
- FaceApp publishes nothing about what happens to your edited photos or to app features when a subscription ends. Photos you have already saved to your camera roll are on your device and are not held by the subscription.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel FaceApp, step by step.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Apple bills the subscription and holds the cancellation. These are FaceApp's own published steps, which go through the App Store app rather than iOS Settings.
- Open the App Store.
- Tap your profile icon.
- Select Subscriptions.
- Find FaceApp and tap it to view details.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
The same list is reachable from Settings, your name, Subscriptions, which is Apple's own documented path. Either route reaches the same subscription. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
Cancel on Android
Google Play bills the subscription, and FaceApp's instructions put the emphasis on being signed in to the right account.
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Ensure you are signed into the correct Google account.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the FaceApp subscription you want to manage or cancel.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
In the current Play Store the list sits behind your profile icon, under Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. The Play listing states that subscriptions renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
What happens next?
- Cancelling stops the renewal. Apple and Google both leave the subscription active until the end of the period you already paid for, so PRO features usually continue for the rest of that week, month or year.
- Photos you have already saved or shared are on your device and in your camera roll, and are not part of the subscription.
- FaceApp PRO filters and editing tools stop being available for new edits once the paid period ends.
- FaceApp publishes no refund policy of its own. A refund is requested from Apple or Google, whichever took the payment, and each decides under its own rules.
- Deleting the app afterwards is fine once the subscription shows as cancelled, but it is not what stopped the billing.
- If you want to remove your account and data as well as the subscription, that is a separate request to FaceApp and does not affect a store subscription that is still active.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
FaceApp is not in my subscriptions list
The list only shows what was bought with the account you are signed in to. FaceApp's own instructions start by telling Android users to make sure they are signed into the correct Google account. Find the receipt email from Apple or Google, see which account it was sent to, and sign in with that one. A subscription bought on an iPhone will never appear in Google Play, and the reverse is also true.
I uninstalled FaceApp to stop the charges and they continued
Removing an app never cancels its subscription. Apple and Google keep billing until the subscription itself is cancelled in the store settings. You do not need to reinstall: go straight to the Subscriptions list on the device, or to the store's website signed in to the account that paid.
My free trial charged me before I expected
Check the renewal date rather than counting days from installation. Both stores state that a subscription renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends, so a cancellation on the last day arrives too late. FaceApp does not publish a trial length of its own, which makes the date in your subscription settings the only figure worth trusting.
I am being charged more often than I expected
FaceApp's App Store listing shows the same FaceApp PRO product at four different prices without labelling the periods, so the store listing does not tell you which cadence you bought. Your subscription entry in Settings or in Google Play shows the renewal period next to the price, and that is the figure to go by.
Can FaceApp cancel it for me?
No. FaceApp states that the subscription is linked to your App Store or Google Play account and that all subscription management options are available directly in the store. A developer cannot cancel a subscription a store is billing, which is also why refunds have to go to Apple or Google rather than to FaceApp.
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How do I cancel my FaceApp subscription?
In the store that billed you. On iPhone: App Store, profile icon, Subscriptions, FaceApp, Cancel Subscription. On Android: Google Play Store, signed into the correct Google account, Subscriptions, the FaceApp subscription, then follow the on-screen instructions.
Does deleting FaceApp cancel the subscription?
No. Deleting an app removes it from the device but leaves the subscription running, and the store keeps charging until it is cancelled in your subscription settings.
Can I get a refund from FaceApp?
FaceApp publishes no refund policy and documents Apple and Google as the only billers, so the request goes to whichever store charged you. Each applies its own rules and can decline. Cancelling and requesting a refund are separate actions.
Is FaceApp billed by its website?
No. FaceApp states that the subscription is linked to your App Store or Google Play account and documents no direct or website billing. If a charge is not in either store's subscription list, it is worth checking the statement descriptor rather than assuming it is FaceApp.
When should I cancel to avoid the next charge?
At least 24 hours before the renewal date shown in your subscription settings. The Play Store listing states that subscriptions renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and Apple gives the same advice.
