Before you start.
- Expect the cancellation to happen in a store. Finch says you can cancel Finch Plus anytime through your device settings, and names iOS and Android rather than any web route of its own.
- Check which account paid. A subscription bought on one Apple Account or Google Account does not appear when you are signed in to another, which is the most common reason it seems to be missing.
- Cancel ahead of the renewal rather than on the day, so the store registers it before the next charge is raised.
- Expect to keep Plus for the rest of the cycle. Finch says cancelling ends your Plus features at the end of the current billing cycle and that you will still have access until the original expiry date.
- Your bird and your progress are not part of the subscription. Cancelling Plus does not delete the pet, the streaks or the journal entries in your account.
- Finch offers a support address if you get stuck: it says to reach out at support@befinch.com.

Cancel Finch Plus on iOS
Use this if you subscribed on an iPhone or iPad, where Apple holds the billing.
- Open your device's Settings.
- Tap Apple ID, then Subscriptions.
- Select Finch.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
- Confirm, then check the screen shows the subscription expiring rather than renewing.
If Finch is not listed, check you are signed in with the Apple Account that paid for it.
Cancel Finch Plus on Android
Use this if you subscribed through Google Play on an Android device.
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Tap Menu, then Subscriptions.
- Select Finch.
- Cancel the subscription and follow the confirmation steps.
- Check the subscription now shows an expiry date.
Use the Google Account that made the purchase, since another account will not list the subscription.
Ask Finch support for help
Finch offers this explicitly for people who cannot complete the cancellation themselves.
- Email support@befinch.com, the address Finch gives for help.
- Say which store you subscribed through, if you know, and give the email address on your Finch account.
- Include the charge details from your statement if the subscription is hard to find.
- Ask what to do next and keep the reply.
- Complete the cancellation in the store, since a store subscription can only be stopped there.
Finch cannot cancel an Apple or Google subscription on your behalf, but it can help you identify which one you have.
What happens next?
- Finch says cancelling ends your Plus features at the end of the current billing cycle, so you keep Finch Plus until the original expiry date of the subscription.
- Your bird, your streaks and your journal history stay in the account. The subscription is a feature tier rather than the account itself.
- The free version of Finch continues to work after Plus ends.
- Cancelling does not produce a refund. If you want the last charge back, that is a separate request to Apple or Google under their own rules.
- You can subscribe again later, and the account picks up where it left off.

Finch is not in my subscriptions list
This is usually an account mismatch rather than a missing subscription. Store subscriptions attach to the Apple Account or Google Account that bought them, so a newer sign-in hides an older purchase. Check which account received the receipt and sign in with that one. It is also worth checking the other platform if you have changed phones between iOS and Android.
I cancelled but Finch Plus is still working
That is exactly what Finch describes: cancelling ends your Plus features at the end of the current billing cycle, and you still have access until the original expiry date of the subscription. Continued access is not a sign that the cancellation failed. Confirm in the store that the subscription shows an expiry date rather than a renewal date.
I deleted the app and was charged again
Deleting an app does not cancel a store subscription, because the billing lives with Apple or Google rather than with the app on your phone. Go to iOS Settings under Apple ID and Subscriptions, or the Play Store under Subscriptions, and cancel there. You do not need to reinstall Finch to do it.
Will I lose my bird and my streaks?
No. Finch Plus is a paid feature tier on top of the account, so cancelling it does not delete your pet, your streaks or the entries you have written. What ends is access to the Plus features at the end of the billing cycle. Deleting your Finch account is a separate action entirely.
I cannot work out which store is charging me
Check the merchant name on your bank statement, which will point to Apple or Google rather than to Finch. If that is still unclear, Finch invites you to email support@befinch.com for help identifying the subscription. The cancellation itself still has to be completed in whichever store holds it.

For a trial billed by Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select the trial, choose the cancellation option and confirm. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to prevent renewal. Check the confirmation for your access end date. Add the trial deadline to Subex and set a reminder so you can review it in time.
How do I cancel a Google Play free trial before it renews?
Open your subscriptions in Google Play using the Google Account that started the trial. Select the plan, choose Cancel subscription and complete the confirmation steps before the trial expires. Otherwise, the paid subscription begins automatically under the offer’s terms. Uninstalling the app does not stop renewal. Keep the trial-end date in Subex and set a reminder before the first payment is due.
