Before you start.
- Check where you signed up. IPVanish states that Apple, Google and Amazon sign-ups must be cancelled with that store, and its support team cannot cancel them for you.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the current service period ends. IPVanish states the period ends the day before the renewal date, and renewals are not refundable.
- On an annual or longer website plan, IPVanish's 30-day money-back guarantee applies if the cancellation is submitted within 30 days of the original purchase. In that case the plan is cancelled immediately rather than at the end of the term.
- If you have a linked service, such as LiveDrive or SugarSync cloud storage, cancelling IPVanish cancels it too and permanently deletes the stored files. Download them first.
- Cancelling online is easier than through support, which asks for proof of ownership from your billing source before it can act.

Cancel a website subscription in My Account
This is the route IPVanish documents for subscriptions bought on its website. The cancel button sits under Change Plan, below the plan options.
- Go to the IPVanish website and click the My Account tab at the top right.
- Log in with your IPVanish username and password.
- Click Subscriptions in the left-hand menu.
- On the Subscriptions page, select Change Plan.
- Scroll to the bottom of the plan options and select Cancel Subscription.
- Select your reason and click Proceed with cancellation.
- On the discount offer, do not click Claim my discount. Scroll down, tick the box next to the subscription, choose when the cancellation should occur and click Submit Cancellation.
- Check for the confirmation banner at the top of the page.
Claim my discount applies a discounted rate to your next renewal and stops the cancellation. Only Submit Cancellation completes it.
Cancel an Apple-billed IPVanish subscription
The IPVanish iOS app sells monthly and yearly subscriptions, with a 7-day free trial, through the App Store. IPVanish states its support team cannot cancel these.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap IPVanish.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
On the free trial, IPVanish asks you to cancel at least 24 hours before the 7 days end to avoid being billed by Apple. A cancelled subscription stays active until the end of the billing period.
Cancel a Google Play-billed IPVanish subscription
The IPVanish Android app also sells subscriptions and 7-day trials through Google Play, and IPVanish states only Google can cancel them.
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the IPVanish subscription. If it is not listed, this Google account has no IPVanish subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the on-screen instructions.
IPVanish notes that a Google Play purchase can be cancelled for an automatic refund within 30 minutes of subscribing. After that, the cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing cycle.
What happens next?
- Outside the money-back period, the subscription stays active until the end of the billing cycle and is cancelled then.
- Inside the 30-day money-back period on an annual or longer website plan, IPVanish cancels the plan immediately.
- IPVanish states monthly plans and subscription renewals are not eligible for refunds, and Amazon in-app purchases are not refundable.
- Trials started in the iOS or Android app are eligible for a refund within the first 6 days, but the cancellation itself must still be done in the store.
- If you cancelled through support, do not treat the account as cancelled until support says so in writing.

How do I cancel an App Store free trial before I’m charged?
For a trial billed by Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select the trial, choose the cancellation option and confirm. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to prevent renewal. Check the confirmation for your access end date. If you track it in Subex, enter the date the trial converts as the renewal date and set a reminder 1 or 3 days before.
How do I cancel a Google Play free trial before it renews?
Open your subscriptions in Google Play using the Google Account that started the trial. Select the plan, choose Cancel subscription and complete the confirmation steps before the trial expires. Otherwise, the paid subscription begins automatically under the offer’s terms. Uninstalling the app does not stop renewal. If you track it in Subex, enter the date the trial converts as the renewal date and set a reminder 1 or 3 days before.

I cancelled but IPVanish renewed anyway
Check that you clicked Submit Cancellation and saw the confirmation banner. Accepting Claim my discount ends the cancellation and applies the discount instead. Also check timing: IPVanish's service period ends the day before the renewal date, and it asks you to cancel at least 24 hours before that. Renewals are not refundable under its policy.
I cannot find IPVanish in Google Play or the App Store
Then you most likely signed up on the IPVanish website and the My Account route applies. IPVanish notes that if the subscription is not listed in Google Play, that Google account has no IPVanish subscription.
My IPVanish free trial turned into a charge
App trials are billed by Apple or Google at the end of the 7 days, and yearly plans are charged in full up front. IPVanish states trials started in its mobile apps are eligible for a refund within the first 6 days of the trial. Cancel in the store to stop further renewals.
I cannot log in to cancel
Cancelling through IPVanish support is possible, but it asks for proof of ownership from your billing source before it can make changes. Do not treat the account as cancelled until support confirms it in writing.

How do I cancel my IPVanish subscription?
On the website: My Account, Subscriptions, Change Plan, then Cancel Subscription at the bottom. Choose a reason, click Proceed with cancellation, skip the discount, tick the subscription, choose the timing and click Submit Cancellation. For an app purchase, cancel in the App Store or Google Play.
How do I turn off IPVanish auto-renew?
IPVanish states that disabling auto-renew adds a cancellation order to the subscription, done from Subscriptions and Change Plan in your account. All IPVanish subscriptions renew automatically until you do this.
Can I get a refund from IPVanish?
Annual or longer website plans have a 30-day money-back guarantee from the original purchase date. Monthly plans and renewals are not refundable. App trials are refundable within the first 6 days, and Amazon purchases are not refundable.
Does deleting the IPVanish app cancel my subscription?
Do not rely on it. IPVanish documents cancellation through the account page, its support team, or the store that bills you, and states that simply reading an article or loading a page does not cancel an account: you have to finish the procedure.
