In this guide
Before you start.
- Work out which membership you have. The All-Access Membership is the one attached to Peloton hardware and covers the household on that machine. The App Membership is the app-only plan with no equipment attached. They are cancelled the same way but they are not the same product, and people frequently cancel one while meaning the other.
- Separate the membership from the money you owe on the machine. Peloton's terms treat the All-Access Membership as something that may be purchased or received in connection with a Peloton connected fitness product, which means it is distinct from owning the product. If you financed a Bike or Tread, that loan is a separate agreement and cancelling the membership does not close it.
- Expect no proration. Peloton states you will not be eligible for a prorated refund of any portion of the Peloton Membership fee paid for the then-current Peloton Membership period. Cancelling early in a paid month does not return the unused part of it.
- Check who bills you. If you subscribed inside the iPhone or Android app rather than on Peloton's website, the store may hold the billing, and Peloton's own account page will not be able to stop it.
- If you are in New York, note the specific exception in Peloton's terms: New York residents may cancel within at least 14 days after their first charge at a new, higher price, with a pro rata refund for any unused portion. Peloton also names limited exceptions for certain Canadian residents.
- Decide whether you are keeping the equipment. Selling a Bike privately and cancelling the membership are two separate acts, and the buyer will need their own membership to use the machine as intended.
How to find all your subscriptions How to cancel a membership
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Peloton, step by step.
Cancel in your Peloton account settings
This is the route Peloton's membership terms name first, and the one to use if you subscribed through Peloton rather than through an app store.
- Sign in to your Peloton account in a web browser.
- Go to your membership page at onepeloton.com/mymembership, which is the address Peloton's terms give for account settings.
- Find the membership you intend to end, checking whether it is the All-Access Membership or the App Membership.
- Follow the cancellation prompts through to a confirmation screen rather than stopping at a pause or discount offer.
- Note the date your access ends and keep the confirmation email.
Peloton says access continues until the end of the then-current period. A confirmation that shows a future end date is the cancellation working as described, not a failed cancellation.
Cancel by calling Peloton Member Support
Peloton's terms name this alongside the website, so it is a documented route rather than a fallback. It is the practical option when the account page will not complete the cancellation or you cannot sign in.
- Call Peloton Member Support on 1-866-679-9129, the number given in Peloton's membership terms.
- Say which membership you are cancelling, All-Access or App, and give the email address on the account.
- Ask for the effective date of the cancellation and whether any further charge is still scheduled.
- Ask them to confirm in writing by email.
- Check that the confirmation names the membership you meant to cancel.
If you have both an All-Access Membership and an App Membership, say so explicitly. Cancelling one leaves the other billing.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Use this if you started the subscription inside the Peloton app on an iPhone or iPad. Apple holds the billing in that case, and Peloton's own account page cannot stop an Apple charge.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the Peloton subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If Peloton is not in that list, either a different Apple Account paid for it or Peloton bills you directly. Check the receipt email to see who took the payment.
Cancel on Android
Use this if you subscribed inside the Peloton Android app. Google holds the billing and it has to be stopped in Play.
- Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select the Peloton subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the confirmation steps.
Use the Google Account that made the purchase. A subscription bought on a different account does not appear in this list.
What happens next?
- Access runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Peloton states you will not be eligible for a prorated refund of any portion of the membership fee paid for the then-current period.
- The hardware stays yours and keeps working as a piece of equipment. What it loses is the subscription side: the live and on-demand classes and the membership features that stream into them. A Bike without a membership is still a bike, but it is not the product Peloton advertises.
- Financing is untouched. If you are paying monthly for the machine itself, that agreement continues after the membership ends, and it is settled with whoever holds the loan rather than by cancelling the membership.
- Your workout history stays on the account. Cancelling the membership does not delete the account, so the profile and the records of what you rode remain unless you ask for the account itself to be removed.
- All-Access and App Memberships are billed separately. If you hold both, cancelling one has no effect on the other.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
I cancelled the membership but I am still being charged for the Bike
Those are two different agreements and this is the single most common confusion around Peloton billing. The membership fee pays for the classes. A finance or lease payment pays for the machine, and Peloton's terms treat the All-Access Membership as something purchased in connection with the hardware rather than as the hardware itself. Cancelling the membership does not close a finance agreement. Check the charge description on your statement: if it is the equipment loan, contact the finance provider named on it.
I cancelled mid-month and got no money back
That is the documented behaviour. Peloton states you will not be eligible for a prorated refund of any portion of the Peloton Membership fee paid for the then-current Peloton Membership period. You keep access until the period ends. Peloton's terms do name limited exceptions for certain Canadian and New York residents, including that New York residents may cancel within at least 14 days after their first charge at a new, higher price with a pro rata refund for the unused portion.
The membership is not in my Peloton account settings
That usually means a store holds the billing rather than Peloton. If you subscribed inside the app on an iPhone, cancel it in iOS Settings under your name and Subscriptions. If you subscribed in the Android app, cancel it in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions. The receipt email tells you who charged you: a receipt from Apple or Google means Peloton's own page cannot stop it.
I cancelled the App Membership but my All-Access is still billing
They are separate subscriptions and cancelling one does nothing to the other. This catches people who bought hardware after already having the app, or who kept the app plan running alongside it. Check your membership page for every active plan, and if you are calling support on 1-866-679-9129, name both explicitly rather than asking to cancel Peloton.
I sold the Bike, do I still need to cancel?
Yes. The membership is attached to your account and your payment method, not to the machine, so it carries on billing after the equipment has left your house. Cancel it separately through your account settings or by phone. The buyer needs to take out their own membership to get classes on the machine.
Still not cancelled?Common reasons a subscription will not cancel How to cancel an app subscription
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How do I cancel my Peloton membership?
Peloton's membership terms say to go to your Peloton Account Settings at onepeloton.com/mymembership or contact Peloton Member Support on 1-866-679-9129. If you subscribed inside the iPhone or Android app, cancel through Apple or Google Play instead.
Does the Peloton Bike still work without a membership?
The machine is yours and remains usable as equipment, but the membership is what supplies the live and on-demand classes and the features built around them. Cancelling ends that side of it. The hardware itself is not switched off by cancelling.
Will Peloton refund the rest of my month or year?
Peloton states you will not be eligible for a prorated refund of any portion of the membership fee paid for the then-current membership period, with limited exceptions its terms name for certain Canadian and New York residents. Access runs to the end of the period instead.
Does cancelling the membership stop my Bike payments?
No. Equipment financing is a separate agreement from the membership. Cancelling the membership stops the membership fee only, and the loan on the machine continues until it is settled with whoever provides it.
What happens to my workout history?
It stays with your account. Cancelling the membership ends the subscription rather than deleting the account, so your profile and past workouts remain unless you separately ask for the account to be removed.
