Before you start.
- Identify the channel first. CyberLink sells through its own online store, the Apple App Store and Google Play, plus third-party retailers, and each holds its own cancellation and its own refund rules.
- Understand what CyberLink means by cancelling. It states that subscriptions automatically renew for the same period of time, monthly or yearly, before the expiration date, and that you can turn Auto-Pay off, which it labels Cancel Subscription, at any time if you do not want to renew.
- Know that the two sets of rules genuinely differ. CyberLink's own support pages offer a 30-day money back guarantee on products bought from the CyberLink online store, while its app store listings state that no cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period and that refunds will not be provided for any unused portion of the term. Both are CyberLink's words, applied to different channels.
- Work to the 24 hour deadline on a mobile purchase. CyberLink's iOS description states that subscriptions renew at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and its Play description says the same for the annual premium plan.
- Check which cadence you are on. CyberLink states its iOS subscriptions run in periods of 1 month, 3 months or 1 year, and its listings carry monthly, quarterly and yearly tiers of Pro Plus and Premium. There is no weekly plan.
- Deal with credits separately. CyberLink states you can refund an entire order of unused purchased credit within 30 days of purchase, and that if some credits from an order have been used the rest are not refundable.
- Expect features to be gated to the active term. CyberLink describes subscriber features as available until the subscription expires, so premium effects, packs and tools stop with the plan rather than persisting.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel PowerDirector, step by step.
Cancel in the CyberLink Member Zone
This is the route for a subscription bought from CyberLink's own store, which it bills directly.
- Sign in to the CyberLink Member Zone at membership.cyberlink.com.
- Go to Plans and Products and find your subscriptions.
- Click Manage Plan.
- Click Cancel Subscription to deactivate auto-renewal.
- Confirm the entry now shows that it will not renew, and note the expiration date.
- If you change your mind, CyberLink states you click Enable auto-pay to reactivate auto-renewal.
CyberLink treats Cancel Subscription and turning Auto-Pay off as the same action. The plan keeps working until its expiration date rather than stopping when you click.
Cancel on Android
PowerDirector sells its subscriptions as Google Play in-app purchases, and Google bills those. CyberLink cannot stop a charge Google collected.
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Select Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select PowerDirector.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
- Do this at least 24 hours before the renewal date, which is the deadline CyberLink's Play listing states.
For a refund on this channel, CyberLink states a Play purchase is refundable within 30 days, that within 48 hours you request it directly through Google Play, and that after 48 hours you use the in-app Send Feedback option with your Google account email and order number.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
PowerDirector also ships on iOS, where Apple bills the in-app purchase and holds the cancellation.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top, which is your Apple Account.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select PowerDirector from the list.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
CyberLink states that Apple handles refunds for App Store and Mac App Store purchases directly and that developers cannot process them, so a refund on this charge is Apple's decision.
A licence bought from a retailer
CyberLink sells through third-party sales channels, and those purchases sit outside both the Member Zone and the app stores.
- Check the receipt for the seller's name rather than assuming it was CyberLink.
- CyberLink states that for a third-party retailer you should refer to the refund policy of that sales channel.
- Take the cancellation to that seller under the terms you agreed with them.
- If the licence appears in your CyberLink Member Zone, check there whether auto-pay is on and turn it off.
What happens next?
- The plan runs to its expiration date. CyberLink describes cancelling as turning auto-pay off, so the subscription is not cut short by the cancellation.
- Subscriber features stop when the term ends. CyberLink describes subscriber capabilities as usable until the subscription expires, so premium effects, packs and tools become unavailable afterwards.
- Videos already exported to your own disk are unaffected, since the subscription controls the editor rather than the files it produced.
- Unused credits are handled separately. CyberLink states an entire order of unused purchased credit can be refunded within 30 days of purchase, and that once some credits from an order have been used the rest are not refundable.
- CyberLink states that reactivating is a matter of clicking Enable auto-pay in the Member Zone, so a cancellation made early can be reversed before the expiration date.
- Refunds follow the channel. CyberLink offers a 30-day money back guarantee on its own store, directs Play purchases through Google and its in-app Send Feedback option, and states Apple handles App Store refunds directly.

I clicked Cancel Subscription and the plan is still active
That is the intended behaviour. CyberLink treats Cancel Subscription as turning Auto-Pay off, and states that subscriptions renew for the same period before the expiration date unless you do so. The plan you already paid for keeps working until its expiration date. The thing to verify is that the entry in Plans and Products now shows it will not renew.
CyberLink's website promises 30 days but the app says no refunds
Both statements are CyberLink's and they apply to different channels. Its support pages state a 30-day money back guarantee on products purchased from the CyberLink online store. Its app store listings state that no cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period and that refunds will not be provided for any unused portion of the term. Which applies depends on who took your money, so check the receipt before quoting either at support.
I cannot find PowerDirector in my Member Zone
Then CyberLink did not bill you. A subscription bought inside the mobile app belongs to Apple or Google and appears only in that store's subscription list, and a licence bought from a retailer belongs to that seller. Check the receipt email for the biller's name, then use the matching route.
My Google Play refund option has disappeared
CyberLink documents this split: it states a Play purchase is refundable within 30 days, that within 48 hours you request it directly through Google Play, and that after 48 hours you use the in-app Send Feedback option with your Google account email and order number. So past two days the request goes through the app to CyberLink rather than through Google's button.
I was charged again after I thought I had cancelled
Check the timing against the 24 hour rule. CyberLink's listings state that subscriptions renew at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, so a cancellation on the day lands too late. Then check you cancelled in the right place: a Member Zone cancellation does nothing to a subscription Apple or Google is billing.
