In this guide
Before you start.
- Find out where you paid. Simple sells Premium on its website by card or PayPal and through the App Store and Google Play, and each one is cancelled in a different place. A website purchase does not show up in your phone's subscription list.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Simple says all Premium subscriptions renew automatically and that you must turn off auto-renewal or cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Know your introductory plan. Simple says introductory plans renew after 7 days, 1 month or 3 months depending on the plan, then monthly or quarterly, so the first renewal can come sooner than you expect.
- Check whether you bought a commitment plan. Simple says commitment subscriptions generally cannot be cancelled until the commitment period ends, with exceptions for a cooling off period or a request to support within 7 days of purchase.
- If your subscription is paused, resume it first. Simple says you need to unpause a paused subscription before you can cancel it.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Simple, step by step.
Cancel a subscription paid on the Simple website
Simple calls this the fastest way to cancel, and it applies to anyone who paid on the website by card or PayPal, even if you use the app on an iPhone or Android phone.
- Go to web.simple-life-app.com and sign in with the email you subscribed with and the code Simple emails you. In the app, you can instead tap your profile icon, then Manage subscription, and enter the code.
- Tap your profile icon, then My Premium.
- Tap Plan and Billing, then Manage Simple Premium.
- Tap Turn off auto-renewal. Simple says this cancels your subscription.
- Keep the confirmation. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
Sign in with the same email you used to subscribe. Simple says a subscription missing from your account is usually down to signing in with a different email or method.
Cancel on iPhone (App Store)
If you subscribed through Apple, Apple bills you, and Simple's web portal cannot stop the charge.
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Simple.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If Simple is not in the list, you most likely paid on the website. Use the website route instead.
Cancel on Android (Google Play)
If you subscribed through Google Play, cancel it in the Play Store with the Google Account that paid.
- Open the Play Store and tap your profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Tap Simple.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Google says uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription, and that you keep access for the period you already paid for.
Ask Simple to cancel for you
Simple offers to find and cancel your subscription if you are not sure where you paid or cannot get into the account.
- Open the chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of Simple's help center, or in the app go to Profile, then Get support.
- Or email support@simple.life from the address you subscribed with.
- Ask Simple to cancel your subscription, and include your User ID or a payment receipt if you have one.
- Keep the reply that confirms the cancellation.
Send the request well before your renewal date. Simple's 24 hour rule still applies to when the cancellation takes effect.
What happens next?
- Simple says you keep access to Premium until the end of your paid billing cycle, and lose access to premium content after that.
- Simple says you may be eligible for a refund if you request it within the first 30 days after the subscription charge, by cancelling first and then contacting support. Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google.
- The free version of Simple stays available, with basic tracking and a limited number of daily replies from the AI coach.
- Cancelling does not delete your account. Deleting it is a separate step under Profile, Delete Account, and Simple asks you to cancel any active subscription before you do.
Cancelling a Simple free trial.
How do I cancel a Simple trial or introductory plan?
The same way as a subscription, at least 24 hours before it renews. Simple says introductory plans renew after 7 days, 1 month or 3 months depending on the plan, and that once a trial ends it renews at the regular price unless you cancel.
How do I cancel an App Store free trial before I’m charged?
For a trial billed by Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select the trial, choose the cancellation option and confirm. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to prevent renewal. Check the confirmation for your access end date. If you track it in Subex, enter the date the trial converts as the renewal date and set a reminder 1 or 3 days before.
How do I cancel a Google Play free trial before it renews?
Open your subscriptions in Google Play using the Google Account that started the trial. Select the plan, choose Cancel subscription and complete the confirmation steps before the trial expires. Otherwise, the paid subscription begins automatically under the offer’s terms. Uninstalling the app does not stop renewal. If you track it in Subex, enter the date the trial converts as the renewal date and set a reminder 1 or 3 days before.
Pausing or freezing Simple.
Can I pause my Simple subscription instead?
If you bought it on the website, yes: once every 6 months, for 1 or 3 months, from Manage Subscription and then Plans and Billing. Store purchases are paused by contacting support, and commitment plans cannot be paused.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
Simple is not in my iPhone or Google Play subscriptions
You most likely paid on Simple's website, which bills you directly by card or PayPal. Sign in at web.simple-life-app.com with the email you subscribed with, open My Premium, then Plan and Billing, Manage Simple Premium, and tap Turn off auto-renewal. If you are still unsure, use the chat bubble or email support@simple.life and Simple will find the subscription.
I cannot see my subscription in the app
Simple says this is usually caused by signing in with the wrong method or email. Check the email shown at the bottom of your Profile, log out, and log back in with the original method: the email code for website purchases, or Continue with Apple, Google or Facebook if you signed up that way.
My subscription is paused and I want to cancel
Simple says you must resume a paused subscription before you can cancel it. Tap Unpause Subscription, go through Plans and Billing to Resume Subscription, and then turn off auto-renewal so the next billing cycle is not charged.
I deleted the app and I am still being charged
Simple says uninstalling the app, deleting your account or unsubscribing from emails does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it on the web portal, or in the App Store or Google Play if you paid there.
I bought a commitment plan and cannot cancel it
Simple says commitment subscriptions generally cannot be cancelled until the commitment period expires. You can still ask for immediate cancellation and a refund under a cooling off period where you live, or by contacting support through the chat widget within 7 days of buying the commitment plan.
