In this guide
Before you start.
- Find your monthly processing date. WW ties cancellation to it: cancellation must occur before the applicable monthly processing date of your subscription. That date, not the day you stop attending or using the app, is the deadline.
- Allow for the 72 hours. WW says it will attempt to process all cancellation requests within 72 hours after we receive your request, so cancelling on the processing date itself can leave the request being handled after the charge has gone.
- Check whether you are on a commitment plan. WW says that for a long-term commitment plan, cancellation takes effect at the end of the commitment plan period rather than at the end of the current month. A discounted rate is often what a commitment buys.
- Expect the rate to change if you stay past a promotion. WW says that where you were eligible for discounted rates, your membership will automatically be renewed at our standard membership rates and for our standard period, usually monthly.
- Do not count on a refund. WW says subscriptions are not refundable or cancellable once a billing period has started, and names limited exceptions including medical reasons, relocation 15 or more miles from a workshop, workshop closure, termination by the company with a pro rata refund of the unused portion, and cancellation within 3 days of initial purchase where applicable law provides it.
- Check who billed you. WW sells through its own site and app and through the Apple App Store, and its Google Play listing shows no in-app purchases. A charge that came from Apple has to be cancelled at Apple.
How to find all your subscriptions How to cancel a membership
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel WeightWatchers, step by step.
Cancel on the WeightWatchers site or app
WW names this first: members may cancel by selecting that option in the protected areas of the Site or Mobile App. This is the self-service route for memberships WW bills directly.
- Sign in at weightwatchers.com or open the WeightWatchers app with the account being charged.
- Open your account or profile settings and find the plan, membership or subscription section.
- Select the cancellation option and follow the prompts through to a confirmation rather than stopping at a pause or discount offer.
- Check what the confirmation says about the effective date, and whether it refers to your monthly processing date or the end of a commitment period.
- Keep the confirmation email.
Do this several days before your processing date. WW says it attempts to process cancellation requests within 72 hours of receiving them.
Cancel by calling WeightWatchers Customer Service
WW names contacting Customer Service as a cancellation method and gives 1-800-651-6000. Use it when the online option is not offered on your plan, which has historically been the case for some plan types.
- Call WeightWatchers Customer Service on 1-800-651-6000.
- Give the email address and name on the account and say clearly that you want to cancel the membership.
- Ask which plan you are on and whether it is a monthly subscription or a long-term commitment plan.
- Ask for the effective date and whether any further charge is scheduled before it.
- Ask for written confirmation by email, and note the date and the name of whoever handled it.
If you are told you cannot cancel yet, ask whether that is because of a commitment period and when that period ends. That is a different answer from a refusal.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
If you subscribed inside the app on an iPhone or iPad, Apple holds the billing and WW's own account pages and phone line cannot stop the charge.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the WeightWatchers subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If WeightWatchers is not in that list, either a different Apple Account paid for it or WW bills you directly. The receipt email tells you which.
What happens next?
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current subscription period, or for a commitment plan at the end of the commitment plan period, which is how WW describes it. Access normally runs to that date.
- WW says subscriptions are not refundable or cancellable once a billing period has started, so the month in progress is generally not returned.
- Workshop access ends with the membership for plans that include it. If you are cancelling because of a workshop closure or a move, say so, since WW names those among its limited exceptions.
- Your weight history, food logs and progress stay with the account. Cancelling the membership does not delete the account or its data.
- If you rejoin later, expect current pricing. WW says memberships that were on discounted rates renew at standard membership rates and for the standard period, usually monthly.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
There is no cancel option in my account
WW names three routes: selecting the option in the protected areas of the Site or Mobile App, contacting Customer Service, or other means in its Cancellation Policy. Self-service has not historically been available on every plan, so its absence points you to the phone rather than meaning you cannot cancel. Call 1-800-651-6000, ask which plan you are on, and ask for written confirmation. If Apple bills you, the control is in iOS Settings instead.
I cancelled and was charged the same week
Two things to check. WW says cancellation must occur before the applicable monthly processing date, and separately that it will attempt to process cancellation requests within 72 hours after receiving them. A request made one or two days before the processing date can therefore be processed after the charge. WW also says subscriptions are not refundable once a billing period has started. Cancel several days ahead of the processing date rather than on it.
I was told I cannot cancel because I am on a commitment plan
That reflects how WW describes these plans: for a long-term commitment plan, cancellation takes effect at the end of the commitment plan period. It usually means the cancellation can be requested now but the plan runs to the end of its term, rather than that you are refused. Ask for the exact end date in writing, ask that the membership does not auto-renew past it, and note that WW says discounted memberships otherwise renew at standard rates.
I stopped going to workshops but the billing continued
Attendance and billing are unconnected. The subscription renews on its processing date regardless of whether you attend a workshop or open the app. Cancel it through the site, the app or Customer Service. If the reason you stopped is that your workshop closed or you moved 15 or more miles away from it, say so explicitly, since WW names workshop closure and relocation of 15 or more miles among its limited refund exceptions.
WeightWatchers is not in my Google Play subscriptions
It will not be. The WeightWatchers listing on Google Play shows no in-app purchases, so Android users are billed by WW directly or through Apple on another device rather than through Play. Check the receipt email to see who took the payment, then cancel in the WW account, by phone on 1-800-651-6000, or in Apple's subscription list if Apple charged you.

GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How do I cancel my WeightWatchers membership?
WW says you can cancel by selecting that option in the protected areas of the Site or Mobile App, or by contacting Customer Service on 1-800-651-6000. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, cancel it in your iPhone subscriptions instead.
When do I need to cancel WeightWatchers by?
WW says cancellation must occur before the applicable monthly processing date of your subscription, or for a long-term commitment plan, before the end of the commitment period. Allow extra days, since WW says it attempts to process requests within 72 hours of receiving them.
Can I get a refund from WeightWatchers?
WW says subscriptions are not refundable or cancellable once a billing period has started. It names limited exceptions including medical reasons, relocation 15 or more miles from a workshop, workshop closure, termination by the company with a pro rata refund, and cancellation within 3 days of initial purchase where applicable law provides for it.
Do I have to phone WeightWatchers to cancel?
Not necessarily, but sometimes. WW lists both the online option in the Site or Mobile App and Customer Service, and self-service has not been available on every plan type. If you cannot find the option in your account, calling 1-800-651-6000 is the documented alternative.
What happens to my WeightWatchers data when I cancel?
Cancelling ends the membership rather than the account, so your weight history, food logs and progress stay unless you separately ask for the account to be deleted.
