Cancel the digital membership
This is the route for a membership billed by America's Test Kitchen directly, which covers the website and the digital editions.
- Sign in at americastestkitchen.com with the email address on the membership.
- Open your account area and find the membership or subscription section.
- Use the cancellation option there for the digital membership.
- Complete every prompt to a confirmation rather than closing at an offer screen.
- Keep the confirmation, and check the account no longer shows an upcoming renewal.
America's Test Kitchen also documents cancelling by contacting customer support, which is the fallback if the account area does not offer the option.
Cancel a print magazine subscription
Cook's Illustrated and Cook's Country magazines are separate from the digital membership, and their cancellation screen offers two different outcomes.
- Open the magazine subscription area for your account.
- Find the magazine you want to stop.
- Choose Cancel to end the subscription, or Stop Continuous Service to leave the current term running but stop it renewing.
- Confirm the choice and note which of the two you selected.
- Check your email for confirmation of the change.
America's Test Kitchen states that a cancelled magazine subscription is refunded for all unmailed issues, which is why the print side behaves differently from the digital membership.
Cancel a subscription billed by Apple
If you subscribed inside the iPhone or iPad app, Apple bills you and the cancellation happens in iOS Settings.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name (your Apple Account) at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the America's Test Kitchen entry.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If the entry is missing, you are signed in with a different Apple ID than the one that paid. The receipt email shows which account was charged.
Cancel a subscription billed by Google Play
A subscription started in the Android app is billed by Google Play and cancelled there.
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Select Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select the America's Test Kitchen entry.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts to confirm.
Google states that it cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf: the account holder has to complete it.
What happens next?
- Digital access normally runs to the end of the term you have already paid for rather than stopping the day you cancel.
- America's Test Kitchen states that a cancelled magazine subscription is refunded for all unmailed issues, so the print and digital sides give different outcomes for the same action.
- Cancelling one product leaves the others running. A digital membership, Cook's Illustrated and Cook's Country each renew on their own schedule.
- Your account and the recipes you saved to it remain after a membership lapses, but the recipes and reviews themselves become unavailable without an active membership.
- A subscription billed by Apple or Google is refunded by that store under its own policy rather than by America's Test Kitchen.

I cancelled but a charge from America's Test Kitchen arrived anyway
Check whether the charge belongs to a different product. The digital membership and each magazine are separate subscriptions with separate renewal dates, and cancelling the membership does not stop a magazine. Compare the amount on your statement with each subscription in your account.
I chose Stop Continuous Service and the magazine still comes
That is what the option does. Stop Continuous Service turns off the automatic renewal but leaves the term you paid for in place, so issues continue until it runs out. Choosing Cancel instead ends the subscription, with a refund for unmailed issues.
There is no cancel option in my account
This usually means America's Test Kitchen is not the biller. A membership bought in the iPhone or Android app is billed by Apple or Google and has to be cancelled in that store's subscription settings. Check the receipt to see who charged you.
I was charged for a year without warning
The digital membership renews automatically, and America's Test Kitchen sends a renewal notification ahead of the charge. That notice goes to the email address on the account, so check that address and its spam folder if the renewal was a surprise.
I cannot sign in to the account being charged
Start with password recovery on the exact email address the receipts arrive at, since a second account with a different address is the usual cause. If the account is genuinely unreachable, contact customer support with the charge details from your statement and ask them to identify and cancel the subscription.
