Before you start.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal. Cricut recommends cancelling at least 24 hours in advance of your Free Trial Conversion Date or your Renewal Date, because it may charge up to 24 hours before the next period starts.
- Check where you subscribed. Cricut states that if you purchased Cricut Access through the Design Space app on a mobile device, the subscription must be cancelled through the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
- Know what you are giving up and what you keep. Cricut Access is a subscription to a content library, not to the software: Design Space is free and your machine still cuts. What stops is the use of images, fonts and projects marked with the Cricut Access logo.
- Look at your saved projects first. Any project built with Access-exclusive images or fonts will not cut once the plan expires, and Cricut offers no way to export a Design Space project to a file. If you uploaded your own SVGs, keep the originals outside Design Space.
- There is no partial refund. Cricut's Cricut Access terms state that all payments of subscription fees are nonrefundable and that there are no credits or refunds for partially used subscription periods.
- Cancelling a free trial is different from cancelling a paid plan. Cricut states that upon any cancellation of your free trial, access to Cricut Access and all related benefits terminates immediately, so a trial cancelled early ends that day rather than running out its 30 days.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Cricut Design Space, step by step.
Cancel at myaccount.cricut.com
This is the route Cricut documents, and the only self-serve one for a plan Cricut bills directly. Design Space itself shows your subscription status but does not cancel it.
- Navigate to myaccount.cricut.com and sign in with your Cricut ID and password.
- Select Subscription from the navigation menu.
- Select Cancel Plan.
- Confirm the cancellation.
Cricut states that your subscription will expire at the end of the current billing cycle. If you are checking status rather than cancelling, Design Space shows it: select Cricut Access in the left panel on desktop, or from the menu in the mobile app.
Cancel a Google Play-billed subscription
If you bought Access inside Design Space on an Android device, Google Play holds the billing. Cricut states that a subscription bought this way is managed through that payment method and not through Cricut.
- Open the Google Play Store app, or go to play.google.com.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Select Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select the Cricut Design Space subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
Google states that when you cancel, you can still use the subscription for the time you have already paid for. Cricut warns that if you delete your Cricut account without cancelling here, you will continue to be charged.
Cancel an Apple-billed subscription
Cricut sells Access through in-app purchase on iOS too, processed through your iTunes account. Apple then controls the cancellation.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the Cricut subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button.
Apple states that if there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already cancelled.
Cancel through Cricut Member Care
Cricut offers this as an official alternative rather than a workaround, which is useful if the account page will not complete the cancellation.
- Go to cricut.com/contact, or call the Member Care number listed there.
- Ask for the Cricut Access subscription to be cancelled.
- Ask for written confirmation, and check that your account page stops showing a renewal date.
- If a store bills you, Member Care cannot help: Cricut states you must cancel through that store.
Cricut's terms name this route explicitly alongside the My Account page, so you are not asking for an exception.
What happens next?
- Access runs to the end of the term you paid for. Cricut states that other than the cancellation of a free trial, you continue to have access to Cricut Access through the end of your current subscription period, the remainder of the paid month or year.
- Design Space keeps working and so does the machine. The subscription is tied to the Cricut account rather than the machine, and uploading your own images and cutting them out with your Cricut machine is not an Access feature.
- Projects are not deleted, but Access projects stop cutting. Cricut documents the error directly: if you used Cricut Access exclusive content in a project and the plan has expired, that message appears the next time you attempt to cut the project, and you will either need to re-subscribe or remove or change the images or fonts that are exclusive to Cricut Access.
- Images and fonts you bought outright stay yours. Design Space keeps a separate Purchased filter for content you own, which is unaffected by the subscription ending.
- The Cricut Access logo stays on content whether or not you subscribe. Cricut states the logo appears regardless, so seeing it in your library does not mean you still have access to it.

Design Space says to remove the exclusive content and will not cut
This is the expected result of an expired Cricut Access plan, not a bug. Cricut documents that the message appears when a project uses Access-exclusive images or fonts after the plan has ended. It names two fixes: re-subscribe, or remove or change the exclusive images and fonts in the project. The project itself is not lost, only the parts of it you were renting. Swapping an Access font for a system font is often enough to make a project cuttable again.
I cancelled on cricut.com but Apple or Google keeps charging me
Cricut cannot cancel a store-billed subscription and says so: a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is managed through that payment method and not through Cricut. Cancelling in your Cricut account does nothing to it. Go to Subscriptions in iOS Settings or Payments & subscriptions in the Play Store and cancel it there. Cricut spells out the same warning for account deletion: delete the Cricut account without cancelling at the store and you will continue to be charged.
I was charged right after I cancelled
Cricut states that it may charge up to 24 hours before the start of the next subscription period, and that charges initiated on weekends or holidays may not take effect until the following business day. This is why it recommends cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Cricut's terms also say that if you cancelled before the renewal date and were charged afterwards, you may contact it to request a refund for that charge, so this specific case is the one refund it invites.
I cancelled my trial and lost access the same day
That is Cricut's documented behaviour, and it differs from a paid plan. Its terms state that upon any cancellation of a free trial, access to Cricut Access and all related benefits terminates immediately. A paid plan runs to the end of the term, a cancelled trial does not. If you want the full 30 days, cancel near the end of the trial rather than at the start, leaving Cricut's 24 hour margin.
I want my annual payment back
Cricut's terms state that all payments of subscription fees are nonrefundable and that there are no credits or refunds for partially used subscription periods. Cancelling an annual plan mid-year stops the next renewal and leaves you with Access until the year ends. If a store billed you, ask that store instead: Apple and Google apply their own refund policies to charges they collected, whatever the seller's terms say.

Does Cricut Design Space still work without a subscription?
Yes. Design Space is free software and Cricut Access is a content subscription on top of it. You can still design, upload your own images and cut them with your machine. Cricut does require you to be signed in with a Cricut ID to use the machine, but that is an account rather than a subscription.
What happens to my Cricut projects when Access ends?
They stay in your account. Projects that use Access-exclusive images or fonts will not cut: Cricut shows a message asking you to remove the exclusive content, and the fixes it names are to re-subscribe or to swap out those images and fonts. Content you purchased outright is unaffected.
Can I export my Design Space projects before cancelling?
Cricut documents no way to export a project out of Design Space as a file. The practical protection is to keep the original SVG or image files you uploaded, since those remain yours regardless of the subscription.
Will Cricut refund the rest of my annual Access plan?
No. Cricut's terms state there are no credits or refunds for partially used subscription periods. The exception it does allow is a charge that lands after you had already cancelled, which it invites you to contact it about.
How long is the Cricut Access free trial?
Cricut advertises Cricut Access free for 30 days for new subscribers, renewing automatically until cancelled. Cancelling the trial ends the access immediately rather than at the end of the 30 days.
Does deleting my Cricut account cancel the subscription?
Only if Cricut bills you. Cricut states that deleting the account immediately cancels a Cricut Access subscription it bills, but that if the plan was purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play you must cancel through Apple or Google or you will continue to be charged. Deleting the account also deletes all projects, images, uploads, fonts and digital purchases, with no refunds.
