Before you start.
- Check who took the payment. A receipt from Apple or Google means that store bills you, and eharmony states that Apple does not give it access to manage App Store subscriptions. Anything else was bought on the eharmony website.
- Find your renewal date first. eharmony's Data & settings page shows your membership term length and purchase date, and its terms say you must cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current term to stop the renewal.
- Know what the renewal looks like. eharmony's terms state that paid plans renew automatically, for consecutive 12-month terms unless you agreed to a different length at purchase, so a missed renewal can mean another long term rather than one more month.
- If you pay in installments, cancelling does not end them. eharmony states that pending payments are still due and charged as scheduled, and its terms say cancellation does not affect the obligation to pay the total contractual amount.
- Cancel before you delete the profile. eharmony asks members with an active subscription to contact Customer Care to delete the account, so turning off renewal first keeps the two steps separate.

Cancel eharmony, step by step.
Cancel a membership bought on eharmony.com
eharmony bills you directly when you subscribed on its website. This is the route eharmony documents for turning off automatic renewal on a web purchase.
- Log in to eharmony in a web browser.
- Open the dropdown menu under your profile picture at the top right.
- Select Data & settings.
- Choose Cancel auto renewal (US accounts) or Amend subscription, and read the details shown.
- Click the link at the bottom of the page to start the cancellation, then complete each step until you reach the confirmation page.
This only switches off renewal. eharmony states your current subscription runs its full term, and when it expires you can no longer read or write custom messages or view members' photos.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Apple bills the subscription when you upgraded inside the eharmony iOS app. eharmony states that subscriptions purchased through Apple must be managed in your Apple subscription settings.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap eharmony.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Apple states that if there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already cancelled. If eharmony is not listed, check which Apple Account the receipt went to.
Cancel on Android through Google Play
Google Play bills the subscription when you upgraded inside the eharmony Android app and the receipt came from Google.
- Open the Google Play app.
- Tap the profile icon at the top right.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select the eharmony subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
eharmony states that simply uninstalling the mobile app does not cancel the subscription.
What happens next?
- Turning off renewal does not end the membership early. eharmony states the subscription expires at the end of its current term, and its terms say there is no refund for unused days of that term.
- When the term ends the account drops to Basic. eharmony lists losing the ability to read and write custom messages with members and to view their photos.
- Installment plans keep charging. eharmony states pending payments continue as scheduled until completed, because cancellation does not change what is owed for the term you bought.
- Deleting the profile is a separate step and is permanent. eharmony asks members with an active subscription to contact Customer Care to start the deletion.
- A refund for an Apple or Google purchase is decided by that store. eharmony's terms state it cannot process refunds for Apple purchases directly.
Pausing or freezing eharmony.
Can I pause my eharmony membership instead?
eharmony offers a pause only to customers in New York, arranged through Customer Care. It states that pausing does not change payments already scheduled.

I turned off auto-renewal but I am still being charged
If you chose installments, this is expected: eharmony states pending payments at the time of cancellation are still due and charged as scheduled until completed, and its terms say cancellation does not affect the total contractual amount. If you paid in full, check the date. eharmony's terms require cancelling at least 24 hours before the end of the current term, so a renewal processed before that point stands. Then confirm the change saved: Data & settings shows your term and renewal status.
I deleted the eharmony app and it still renews
eharmony states that uninstalling the mobile app does not cancel the subscription. The renewal is held by whoever billed you: eharmony for a web purchase, Apple or Google for an in-app one. Cancel in that place; you do not need to reinstall the app for the Apple or Google route.
I cannot find Cancel auto renewal in Data & settings
The option only appears for memberships eharmony bills directly. If you upgraded in the iPhone app, eharmony states Apple does not let it manage that subscription, so the setting lives in your Apple subscriptions. If you upgraded in the Android app with Google Play, cancel in the Play Store. Outside the US the same option is labelled Amend subscription.
My subscription renewed for another full year
eharmony's terms state paid plans renew automatically, for consecutive 12-month terms unless different terms were agreed at purchase, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current term ends. The renewal itself is not refunded for unused days. Residents of some US states have a separate right to cancel within three business days of the agreement, which eharmony's terms set out by state.
I deleted my profile but the charges continue
Profile deletion and the subscription are handled separately: eharmony asks members with an active subscription to contact Customer Care to delete the account rather than deleting it themselves. For an Apple or Google purchase, cancel in that store regardless of the profile's state. For a web purchase, contact eharmony Customer Care with the account email so the renewal can be stopped.

Can I cancel eharmony at any time?

The exception is a three-business-day right to cancel for Premium subscribers in several US states, including California, New York and Illinois, counted from the purchase date, which the terms set out with how to send the notice. Apple and Google purchases are refunded, if at all, by Apple or Google.
Does cancelling stop my eharmony installment payments?
No. eharmony states pending payments at the time of cancellation are still due and continue to be charged as scheduled until completed. Cancelling only stops the plan from renewing for another term.
