Before you start.
- Check who billed you. Match states that a subscription bought through Apple in its iOS app is managed by Apple, so Match cannot turn off its auto-renewal or refund it. A charge from Match itself is cancelled under Manage Subscription.
- Look up your end date. Subscription Status, under Manage Subscription, shows your subscription End Date and Renewal Status, which tells you how long you have to act.
- Know that every package renews. Match states all subscription packages include auto-renewal, and that discounts and promotional rates apply only to the first subscription period, so a renewal can cost more than you first paid.
- If you are on a free trial, cancelling ends it straight away. Match states that cancelling a free trial immediately ends your access, so do it once you have finished using it, but before the trial ends.
- Decide on add-ons separately. Features such as Private Mode can be deactivated on their own under Subscription Status, and cancelling an add-on does not cancel the main subscription.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Match, step by step.
Cancel in the Match app or on match.com
Match bills you directly when you subscribed on its website, or in the app without going through Apple. Match documents Manage Subscription in your account settings as the place to cancel a subscription, a free trial or add-ons.
- Log in to Match. In the app or on mobile web, tap the Profile icon, then the gear icon. On desktop, click the gear icon in the navigation bar.
- Open Manage Subscription. In the app or on mobile web you may need to tap Manage Account first.
- Re-enter your password when asked.
- Choose to cancel your subscription and complete every step until the cancellation is confirmed.
- Open Subscription Status and check that the Renewal Status shows auto-renewal is off, and note the End Date.
Match notes that if you cancel a Platinum subscription, you cannot downgrade to Silver or Bronze at this time.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Apple bills the subscription when you bought it as an In-App Purchase in the Match iOS app. Match states that in this case it cannot change your billing, including turning off auto-renewal.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Match.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Match also describes the same list through the App Store: tap your profile icon, then Subscriptions. Apple states that if there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already cancelled.
If Google Play billed you on Android
Match's help pages document Match billing and Apple billing. Use this route only if your receipt for the Match subscription came from Google Play, which means Google holds it.
- Open the Google Play app.
- Tap the profile icon at the top right.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select the Match subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the on-screen instructions.
If Match is not in your Google Play subscriptions, the subscription is billed by Match and is cancelled under Manage Subscription instead.
What happens next?
- Turning off auto-renewal does not end the subscription early. Subscriber features continue until the End Date on your Subscription Status page, then the account returns to free member mode.
- Match states that generally its subscriptions are non-refundable, and points to section 8d of its Terms of Use for the full refund policy.
- If you change your mind before the end date, Match states you can click Reactivate to turn auto-renewal back on, and you are not charged until the current term ends.
- Cancelling the subscription does not delete or hide your profile. That is a separate step under Manage Account, where you can hide the account or choose Delete My Account. Match states deletion is permanent and sends no confirmation email.
- Add-ons you deactivate stay active until their own end date and do not renew at the next billing cycle.
Pausing or freezing Match.
Can I pause my Match subscription?
No. Match states it does not offer subscription pauses once a package is active. You can turn off auto-renewal and keep the features until the end date.

I deleted my Match account and I am still being charged
Deleting the account and cancelling the subscription are separate steps on Match. If Apple bills you, deleting the Match account does not touch it: Match states it cannot turn off auto-renewal for an Apple In-App Purchase, so cancel it in your Apple subscriptions, where it stays listed. For a Match-billed subscription, sign back in if the account still exists and check Subscription Status, or contact Match support through the Help Center.
My Match subscription renewed at a higher price
Match states that discounts and promotional rates apply only to the first subscription period and do not carry over after renewal. All packages include auto-renewal, so the renewal is charged at the standard rate unless auto-renewal was turned off before the end date.
I was charged for six months at once
Match shows a monthly rate on its plans for comparison, but states the full cost of the plan is charged once at the start of the subscription. A 6-month plan is billed in full at checkout, not month by month. If you prefer monthly billing, Match points to the 1-month package.
I cannot see my subscription on the Subscription Status page
Match suggests making sure you are signed in to the correct Match account. If you subscribed through Apple, the subscription is managed in your Apple subscriptions rather than in Match. Match also suggests checking with your bank that the payment was actually processed.
I cancelled my free trial and lost access immediately
That is how Match handles trials: it states that cancelling a free trial immediately ends your access. You can turn the trial back on before it ends, but Match states that also turns auto-renewal back on, so you would be charged when the trial converts.

How do I cancel my Match subscription on my phone?

How do I turn off Match auto-renewal?
