- Cancel before deleting the profile. Grindr states that deleting a profile or the app does not cancel the subscription, so doing it in that order leaves the plan billing with no profile left to manage it from.
- Grindr states that the subscription is tied to the store account used for the original purchase rather than to your Grindr profile. Find the receipt and note which Apple Account it names.
- Check the renewal date on the subscription screen and cancel ahead of it. Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before a renewal to prevent it.
- Know which product you hold. Grindr sells XTRA and Unlimited as separate tiers, and a change between them is a change of subscription rather than a second one.
- One-off purchases are not covered by the cancellation. Grindr's own refund policy separates subscriptions from microtransactions, and cancelling the subscription does not remove or refund anything you bought outright.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Apple bills a Grindr subscription bought in the iOS app, and Grindr states that a subscription is tied to the store account that made the purchase. Grindr support cannot stop an Apple charge.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name (your Apple Account) at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the Grindr subscription you want to stop.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Grindr states that after cancelling you keep the premium features until the end of the current billing period. Older Grindr help pages describe reaching the same screen through Settings, App Store, your Apple ID, then Subscriptions, and turning off automatic renewal.
When the subscription is not yours to cancel from this device
If the plan was bought on an account you no longer have, or it does not show up anywhere, Grindr's help centre is where to raise it. Grindr invites a support request when the steps above do not resolve the problem.
- Find the original receipt and note the date, the amount and the store account it names.
- Sign in to that store account on any device and check its subscriptions list first, because that is where the plan lives.
- If the subscription still cannot be found, submit a request through the Grindr help centre with a brief explanation and the receipt details.
- Say clearly whether you want the billing stopped or a purchase investigated, as they are different requests.
Grindr states it is unable to process refunds for purchases made through Apple, because Apple requires all refunds to be processed through Apple. Stopping the billing and asking for money back go to different places.
What happens next?
- Grindr states that after cancelling you keep access to the premium features until the end of the current billing period, so XTRA or Unlimited does not switch off immediately.
- Deleting the Grindr profile is a separate action, and it is the one to do last. Grindr states it does not cancel the subscription on its own.
- Grindr states that all purchases, including subscriptions and microtransactions, are final and non-refundable, and that it cannot refund a charge Apple collected.
- A refund request for an Apple charge goes to Apple through its own Report a Problem process, and Apple decides under its policies rather than Grindr's.
- Cancelling does not delete your Grindr data. Profile deletion is requested separately if that is what you want.

I deleted my Grindr profile and the charges kept coming
Grindr states that deleting a profile or removing the app does not cancel the subscription. Apple holds the plan and never saw the deletion, so it renews as scheduled. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, tap Subscriptions and cancel the Grindr entry there. It stays listed even with the profile gone, and you do not need to reinstall Grindr or make a new profile to reach it.
Grindr is not in my Apple subscriptions list
Grindr states the subscription is tied to the store account used for the original purchase. If you have more than one Apple ID, or bought it on a partner's or family member's device, the entry lives under that account. Check which Apple Account the receipt email names and sign in with that one. A plan bought on Android through an old Grindr install will never appear in Apple's list at all.
My premium features disappeared but I am still paying
This is the restore purchase case rather than a cancellation failure. Grindr states the subscription follows the store account, so signing into a new Grindr profile does not carry the entitlement across by itself. Use the restore purchase option in the app while signed in to the store account that paid. The billing continues in the meantime, so if you do not want the plan at all, cancel it in Settings as well.
Grindr support told me the purchase is non-refundable
That matches its published policy: Grindr states all purchases are final and non-refundable and that it cannot refund an Apple charge, because Apple requires refunds to go through Apple. It is not the end of the matter. Apple applies its own policy to charges it collected, so the request goes to Apple's Report a Problem page rather than to Grindr.
I see a Grindr charge I did not recognise or an amount that looks wrong
Check for a pending pre-authorisation rather than a completed charge: Grindr publishes a help article specifically about charges and pre-authorisations, because a temporary hold can look like a duplicate payment before it clears. Compare the amount against the renewal price on the Apple subscriptions screen. If it is a genuine second charge, cancel the subscription first to stop the next one, then raise the past charge with Apple.

Does deleting my Grindr profile cancel my subscription?
No. Grindr states that deleting your profile or removing the app will not cancel the subscription and that you have to cancel it yourself in your store settings to avoid future billing. Cancel first, delete afterwards.
