Before you start.
- Cancel the subscription before deleting or deactivating the account. Hily states that neither deleting the account nor uninstalling the app cancels the subscription.
- Work out which channel billed you, because the two routes have nothing in common. A Google Play receipt means Google controls the cancellation. A web subscription bought on Hily's own site is cancelled only by Hily support, which takes time an automatic renewal will not wait for.
- Hily states that if you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the subscription term, the subscription is automatically extended and the account is charged within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Start a web cancellation early. Because it depends on a support team answering, a request sent on the renewal day may not be actioned before the charge, whereas a Play Store cancellation takes effect the moment you confirm.
- Dating-app plans here are often short. Check the term length next to the price before you assume you have a month: a weekly plan renews again within days of the one you just noticed.

Cancel on Android through Google Play
Google Play bills a subscription bought in the Android app, and Hily states that a subscription bought through Google Play has to be cancelled through Google under Google's own terms.
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Select Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select Hily.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts to confirm.
Google states that it cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf. Hily support cannot stop a Play-billed charge either, so this screen is the only place the renewal ends.
Find the subscription from inside the Hily app
Hily's help centre describes a route through the app that identifies your billing channel and hands you to it. Useful when you are not sure who charged you.
- Open Hily and go to the Me section, the silhouette icon in the bottom right corner.
- Tap the Settings button in the upper right corner.
- Scroll down to Manage Subscription and tap it.
- You are redirected to the store that sold the subscription, or to Hily's website for a web subscription.
- Complete the cancellation in whichever destination opens, and keep the confirmation.
This screen is only reachable while the account exists. If you have already deleted the account, go directly to Google Play or to Hily support instead.
Cancel a Hily web subscription
Hily sells subscriptions on its own website as well. Hily states that a web subscription is separate from the app stores and can only be cancelled with help from the Hily support team, so this one is a request rather than a button.
- Contact Hily support as early as you can, in the chat inside the app or by email to support@hily.com.
- Say that you want the web subscription cancelled, and give the email address and payment details the subscription was bought with.
- Ask for written confirmation that the recurring billing has stopped, and keep it.
- Check your next statement to confirm no further charge arrives.
Hily states there are no cancellation fees. Because this route depends on support replying, allow more than the 24 hours Hily states are needed before the term ends.
What happens next?
- Cancelling stops the renewal. The paid features normally remain until the end of the period already paid for rather than ending at the moment you confirm.
- Deleting or deactivating the Hily account is a separate action. Hily states it does not cancel the subscription, so do it only after the cancellation is confirmed.
- Hily publishes a dedicated help article for people who deleted the app or the account and were charged anyway, which is a sign of how often this order of operations goes wrong.
- A refund is a separate request from a cancellation. For a Google Play charge it goes to Google, which runs its own process and decides under its own policy. For a web subscription Hily handles it directly.
- Coins and other one-off purchases are not part of the Premium subscription. Cancelling does not remove them and does not refund them.

I deleted my Hily account and I am still being charged
Hily states that deleting the account does not cancel the subscription, and it publishes a help article specifically for this case. The plan sits with Google Play, which never saw the deletion. Open the Play Store, go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and cancel Hily there: the entry remains even though the dating account is gone. If the charge came from a web subscription instead, there is no Play entry to find and you have to email support@hily.com to have it stopped.
Hily is not in my Google Play subscriptions list
Play only lists subscriptions bought with the Google account currently signed in, so a second account on the phone is the common cause. Check which address the Google receipt went to. If no Google receipt exists at all, you have a web subscription, which Hily states is separate from the stores and is cancelled only through its support team.
I asked support to cancel and was charged before they replied
This is the structural weakness of the web route: it depends on a person acting, while the renewal is automatic. Hily states the account is charged within the 24 hours before the current period ends and that cancellation needs to happen at least 24 hours before the term ends. Send the request well ahead, and if a charge lands first, treat the refund as a second request and quote the date and time of your original cancellation message.
I was charged again days after the last payment
Check the term length rather than assuming a monthly cycle. Short auto-renewing plans are common in dating apps, and a weekly plan renews four times in the space people expect one charge. The renewal period is shown next to the price in the Play Store subscription entry. Also check for a second subscription: a web purchase and a Play purchase can run at the same time without either one being visible from the other.
Uninstalling the app did not stop the payments
Hily states that uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription, and Google keeps billing regardless of whether the app is installed. You do not need to reinstall Hily to fix this. Go straight to Payments & subscriptions in the Play Store, which holds the subscription independently of the app.
