Before you start.
- Find out where you paid. Zoosk states the steps depend on where you originally purchased the subscription: on Zoosk, through Apple or through Google. A charge for a website purchase is paid by credit card or PayPal.
- Cancel before you delete. Zoosk states that deleting your account is permanent and does not cancel your subscription, so automatic renewal has to be turned off first or billing continues.
- Act before the next billing date. Zoosk subscriptions renew automatically by default, and Zoosk states all purchases, including automatic renewals, are final and non-refundable.
- You do not need the app. Zoosk states you can cancel an Apple or Google Play subscription without the Zoosk app installed.
- Separate the subscription from one-off purchases. Zoosk lists Boost and Instant Crush as one-time add-ons and Premium Messaging as a subscription upgrade, and all of them fall under its non-refundable policy.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Zoosk, step by step.
Cancel a subscription bought on Zoosk
Zoosk bills you directly when you subscribed on its website and paid by credit card or PayPal. This is the route Zoosk documents for those subscriptions.
- Go to My Profile, then Account Settings, then Subscription, then Manage Subscription.
- Select Manage Subscription again.
- Select your active subscription.
- Select Cancel Subscription and choose a reason for cancellation.
- Select Confirm Cancelation, then check for the on-screen confirmation and the confirmation email.
Zoosk states you keep Premium features until the end of the current billing period and are downgraded to Basic access when the subscription expires.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Apple bills the subscription when you bought it through the App Store. Zoosk states it cannot cancel App Store subscriptions on your behalf.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name (your Apple Account) at the top of the list.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap your Zoosk subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
Zoosk states the subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period after automatic renewal is turned off, and that deleting the app does not cancel it.
Cancel on Android through Google Play
Google bills the subscription when you bought it through Google Play. Zoosk states it cannot cancel Google Play subscriptions on your behalf.
- Open the Google Play app.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Choose Zoosk.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Zoosk states the subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, and that deleting the app from your device does not cancel it.
What happens next?
- Cancelling turns off future renewals only. Zoosk states it does not end your current subscription early or generate a refund.
- Premium features stay until the end of the billing period, then the account drops to Basic access.
- Zoosk states all purchases are final and non-refundable, including Zoosk+ subscriptions, upgrades such as Premium Messaging, one-time add-ons such as Boost and Instant Crush, and automatic renewals. Some states and countries give limited cancellation or refund rights, which Zoosk describes in its Terms of Use.
- Apple and Google purchases are refunded, if at all, by Apple or Google. Zoosk states it cannot refund them, and that a refund request does not cancel the subscription.
- Deleting the profile is separate and permanent. Zoosk states your profile, matches, Connections and messages are removed and the account cannot be restored.
Pausing or freezing Zoosk.
Can I pause or hide my Zoosk profile instead?
No. Zoosk states there is no way to pause, hide or deactivate a profile: an account is either active or deleted. Turning off notifications and not logging in is the only break, and it does not affect billing.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
I deleted my Zoosk profile and I am still being charged
Zoosk states that deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. If Apple or Google billed you, the subscription is still there: cancel it in your Apple account settings or Google Play, which works without the app or the profile. For a website subscription paid by card or PayPal, contact Zoosk Customer Support with the account email.
My Zoosk account was blocked and I am still being charged
Zoosk states that blocking an account automatically cancels a subscription bought on the Zoosk website with a credit card or PayPal, and sends a confirmation email. It does not stop an Apple or Google Play subscription: Zoosk has no way to cancel those, so cancel it yourself in the App Store or Play account.
I uninstalled the Zoosk app but it still renews
Zoosk states that deleting the app from your device does not cancel your subscription. Cancel in your Apple account settings or Google Play subscriptions; you do not need to reinstall the app to do it.
Zoosk renewed before I cancelled
Zoosk subscriptions renew automatically by default unless automatic renewal is turned off before the renewal date, and Zoosk states renewals are final and non-refundable. Cancel now to stop the next one. If Apple or Google charged you, you can still ask them for a refund under their own process, which they decide.
I cancelled on Zoosk but Apple or Google still charges me
Cancelling in Zoosk's Account Settings only stops a website subscription. A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is managed only in your Apple or Google account, so cancel it there as well and check that the store shows an expiry date rather than a renewal date.

How do I cancel my Zoosk subscription on my phone?
If you subscribed in the iPhone app: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Zoosk, Cancel. In the Android app: Google Play, your profile picture, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, Zoosk, Cancel subscription. A website subscription is cancelled under Account Settings, Subscription, Manage Subscription on Zoosk.
Does deleting my Zoosk account cancel my subscription?
No. Zoosk states that deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. Turn off automatic renewal first, then delete the account if you want to.
Can I get a refund from Zoosk?
Zoosk states all purchases are final and non-refundable, including automatic renewals, except for rights some states and countries give under its Terms of Use. If you paid through Apple or Google, request the refund from them.
Do I keep Zoosk Premium after cancelling?
Yes. Zoosk states you keep Premium features until the end of the current billing period, and are downgraded to Basic access when the subscription expires.
How do I unsubscribe from Zoosk emails?
Emails and push alerts are notification settings, not the subscription. Zoosk points to its notification settings for turning them off; that does not cancel a paid subscription, which has to be cancelled where you bought it.
