In this guide
Before you start.
- Check who billed you. A card charge from OurTime is cancelled under Manage subscription. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, OurTime directs you to Subscriptions in your phone settings instead.
- Have your password ready. OurTime asks you to enter it again before the Cancel Subscription option appears.
- Expect a few questions before the final button. OurTime's flow asks short questions and then a Continue Cancellation step, and the cancellation is only done once you receive a confirmation number.
- Do not just hide the profile. OurTime states that if you are a paid member, automatic renewal continues while your profile is hidden unless you turn it off.
- Think before removing the profile. OurTime states that removing your profile removes your emails, photos, records, remaining time and account from the site immediately, so any paid time left is lost.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel OurTime, step by step.
Cancel in the OurTime app or on a mobile browser
OurTime bills a membership paid by credit card directly. This is the route OurTime documents for its app and mobile site.
- Tap your profile at the bottom right of the screen.
- Tap the gear icon at the top right.
- Scroll down to Manage account and tap Manage Subscription.
- Enter your password, then tap Cancel Subscription.
- Answer the short questions and tap Continue Cancellation. Keep the confirmation number and the last day of your subscription that OurTime shows.
OurTime states your account stays active with full member benefits until the current subscription expires, and your card is not charged again.
Cancel on a computer
The same OurTime-billed membership can be cancelled from a desktop browser. The menu sits in the upper-right corner rather than at the bottom of the screen.
- Log in to OurTime in a web browser.
- Click Settings (the gear icon) in the upper-right corner.
- Click Manage subscription and enter your password.
- Click Cancel Subscription.
- Answer the short questions, click Continue Cancellation and keep the confirmation number and end date.
After the confirmation OurTime offers to hide your profile or deactivate the account. That is optional: the cancellation is already complete once you have the confirmation number.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Apple bills the membership when you subscribed through the Apple App Store in the OurTime iOS app. OurTime directs these members to their phone settings.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your Apple ID (your name) at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap OurTime.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. A message shows when the subscription will expire.
Apple states that if there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already cancelled.
If Google Play billed you on Android
OurTime's help pages document card and Apple billing. Use this route only if your receipt for the OurTime membership came from Google Play, which means Google holds it.
- Open the Google Play app.
- Tap the profile icon at the top right.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select the OurTime subscription.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the on-screen instructions.
If OurTime is not in your Google Play subscriptions, the membership is billed by OurTime and is cancelled under Manage Subscription instead.
What happens next?
- Cancelling stops the renewal, not the membership. OurTime states the account stays active with full member benefits until the current subscription expires, and your card will not be charged for future membership.
- OurTime's help pages say all new upgrades carry a one-time, non-refundable processing fee on top of the plan cost, so that fee is not returned by cancelling.
- Longer packages are charged in full at purchase. OurTime shows a monthly average for comparison, but six-month and three-month packages are billed up front.
- If you sign in again after cancelling, OurTime asks whether you want to reactivate. It states that reactivating gives free member access and does not charge your account.
- Deleting the account is a separate step, done in the OurTime app under the gear icon, Manage Account, Delete Account.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
I hid my OurTime profile and I am still being charged
Hiding the profile does not cancel anything. OurTime states that if you are a paid member, automatic renewal continues while your profile is hidden unless you turn it off. Go to Manage Subscription, enter your password and complete Cancel Subscription through to the confirmation number.
I deleted my OurTime account but the charges continue
If Apple or Google billed you, the subscription is held by that store and keeps renewing whatever happens to the OurTime profile: cancel it in your iPhone Subscriptions or in Google Play, where it stays listed. If OurTime billed your card, contact OurTime through its Contact Us form, which states a reply within 48 hours, and quote the account email.
I cannot find Cancel Subscription in OurTime
On a computer the option is under Settings in the upper-right corner, then Manage subscription. In the app it is under profile, the gear icon, Manage account, then Manage Subscription, and you have to enter your password first. If it is not there at all, you probably subscribed through Apple, and the cancellation is in Subscriptions in your iPhone settings.
I cancelled but did not get a confirmation number
OurTime's flow ends with a confirmation number and the date of the last day of your subscription. If you did not see one, the cancellation probably stopped at the questions or the Continue Cancellation step. Go back to Manage Subscription and check whether the option to cancel is still offered.
My OurTime membership renewed automatically
OurTime states that all memberships paid by credit card renew automatically until cancelled. A renewal that ran before you cancelled stands, and the one-time processing fee on new upgrades is non-refundable. Cancel now to stop the next renewal, and keep the confirmation number.
Still not cancelled?Common reasons a subscription will not cancel How to cancel an app subscription
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How do I cancel my OurTime subscription?
In the app: profile, gear icon, Manage account, Manage Subscription, enter your password, Cancel Subscription, answer the questions and tap Continue Cancellation. On a computer: Settings in the upper-right corner, Manage subscription. If you paid through Apple, cancel in Subscriptions in your iPhone settings.
Does hiding or deleting my OurTime profile cancel the subscription?
Hiding does not: OurTime states automatic renewal continues while a profile is hidden unless you turn it off. Cancel the subscription first under Manage Subscription, or in Apple or Google if they billed you, then decide what to do with the profile.
Do I keep OurTime access after cancelling?
Yes. OurTime states that when you cancel, your account remains active with full member benefits until your current subscription expires. Removing the profile, however, removes your remaining time immediately.
Can I get a refund from OurTime?
OurTime's help pages do not describe a refund for cancelling, and state that the one-time processing fee on new upgrades is non-refundable. Refund rights depend on its Terms of Use and where you live. For an Apple purchase, a refund request goes to Apple.
How do I cancel OurTime on iPhone?
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store: open Settings, tap your Apple ID, tap Subscriptions, choose OurTime and tap Cancel Subscription, then confirm. A pop-up shows when it will expire.
