Before you start.
- The trial is short and it converts. PictureThis states that its app offers a 7-day free trial of premium features which requires payment information, and that you can cancel any time up to 24 hours before the trial ends without being charged. Counting the last day as safe is how people get billed for a year.
- You may not have an account to look for. PictureThis states that signing up is not mandatory and that no user-created account is required even if you upgrade to PictureThis Premium. A subscription can therefore be attached to your Apple Account or Google account with no PictureThis login involved, which is why people cannot find what they subscribed to.
- Identify the biller from the receipt. An email from Apple or Google means that store controls the subscription and PictureThis cannot stop it. A charge from picturethisai.com is the company's own, and email is the only route it documents.
- Apple's renewal rule is the deadline that matters for an iPhone subscription: the listing states that the subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and that the account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling is not the same as deleting the app or the account. Removing either leaves a store subscription running.

Cancel on iPhone or iPad
Most PictureThis subscriptions are bought inside the iOS app, which means Apple bills you. The app's own listing points here and nowhere else.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the PictureThis subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down to find the Cancel Subscription button.
Apple states that if there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already cancelled. If PictureThis is not in the list at all, a different Apple Account paid for it.
Cancel on Android
PictureThis also sells inside its Android app, where Google Play takes the payment and holds the cancellation.
- Open the Google Play Store app, or go to play.google.com.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Select Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select PictureThis.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
Google states that when you cancel, you can still use the subscription for the time you have already paid for.

PictureThis sells subscriptions on its website as well as in the apps. Its FAQ contains no cancellation article, and the only channel it names for subscription questions is email.
- Email support@picturethisai.com and ask for the subscription to be cancelled.
- Include the email address you filled in when you subscribed, which is what PictureThis asks for.
- Include the date and amount of the charge, and say plainly that you want the recurring billing stopped.
- Send it well before the renewal date, since there is no published processing time.
- Keep the reply. Without a confirmation you have no record that you asked.
PictureThis publishes no cancellation deadline, refund window or processing time for web purchases, so treat the request as something to send early and to chase.
What happens next?
- The app keeps working. PictureThis states that core features such as plant identification are available for free, while the subscription unlocks advanced tools. Cancelling removes the premium features rather than the app.
- On Android, PictureThis documents a free identification allowance: tapping Free IDs at the top of the screen when taking a new photo gives at least four identifications each day, which expire if unused.
- A store subscription runs to the end of the period you paid for. Apple and Google both keep access alive until then rather than cutting it off when you cancel.
- PictureThis does not document what happens to saved plants, My Garden entries or identification history when a subscription lapses, so do not assume they are either kept or removed. What it does state is that deleting your account removes all the data in it.
- Any unused part of a free trial is lost when a subscription starts. The App Store listing states that any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when the user purchases a subscription.

How do I cancel an App Store free trial before I’m charged?
For a trial billed by Apple, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select the trial, choose the cancellation option and confirm. I was charged before the trial ended
Two mechanisms cause this. Apple charges for a renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends, so the money can leave a day before you expected. PictureThis also says the trial must be cancelled up to 24 hours before it ends, not on the final day. If the charge arrived earlier than either of those explains, take it to whoever billed you with the receipt, as that is a billing dispute rather than a cancellation question.
PictureThis is not in my subscriptions list
Check you are signed in with the account that paid, since the list only shows that account's purchases. The specific trap here is that PictureThis states no user-created account is required even to upgrade to Premium, so there may be no PictureThis login tied to the purchase at all. The receipt email is the reliable way to identify both the biller and the account. A subscription bought on picturethisai.com will never appear in an Apple or Google list.
I cannot find any cancel option on the PictureThis website
There is not one to find. The PictureThis FAQ has no cancellation article, and the only channel it gives for subscription questions is email to support@picturethisai.com, asking you to include the email address you subscribed with. If a store billed you, ignore the website entirely and cancel in that store's subscription settings, which is the route that actually stops the charge.
I deleted the app, or my account, and I am still being billed
Neither action cancels a subscription. Deleting an app removes it from the phone while the store keeps charging, and deleting a PictureThis account removes your data without touching billing held by Apple or Google. Restore the app if you need to, but the cancellation itself happens in the store subscription settings, not in the app.
I appear to be paying twice
Stacked subscriptions happen when someone subscribes again rather than restoring an existing purchase, for instance after reinstalling or switching phones. Check the subscriptions list on every account you use, and on both stores if you have used both platforms. Cancel each one you find, and ask the relevant store about the duplicate charge.
