In this guide
Before you start.
- Make sure this is the right Blink. Blink Fitness is the gym chain now run as PureGym. Blink home security camera plans are a different company and are cancelled through Amazon, Blink.com or Apple, not here.
- Find your next dues date and count back. PureGym says you must give at least 7 business days to cancel a monthly rolling membership, and its US membership agreement asks for cancellations no later than seven days before the next dues payment.
- Check whether you are on a commitment plan. PureGym says that in a 1-year obligation period you may be required to pay a buy-out fee to cancel early.
- Know your login. PureGym's Blink transition FAQ says the member account uses your email, and the new app replaced the old Blink app, which stopped working on August 20, 2025.
- Check where you train. PureGym says members of its Columbia, Tysons Corner and Springfield, VA gyms should cancel by emailing member services rather than online.
How to find all your subscriptions How to cancel a membership
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Blink Fitness, step by step.
Cancel online
This is the route PureGym documents for monthly memberships, and the one that covers former Blink Fitness members whose gym now carries the PureGym name.
- Go to the PureGym US member login and sign in to your profile.
- Select My profile at the top right, then the Profile option.
- Under the My subscriptions tab, press Manage on the subscription you want to end.
- Follow the steps for cancellation through to the end.
- Keep any confirmation shown or emailed to you. PureGym's agreement says it confirms receipt of written notices by email.
PureGym's Member Services page says the Members' Area on the website and the free PureGym app both let you update details, pay past dues and cancel.
Cancel in the app
PureGym's Member Services page says the free PureGym app, like the Members' Area on the website, lets you update your details, pay past dues and cancel. The PureGym US app replaced the old Blink app.
- Open the PureGym US app and sign in with your member account.
- Open your membership or account management area.
- Choose the option to cancel your membership and complete the steps.
- Keep any confirmation, and check for PureGym's confirmation email.
PureGym does not publish the in-app menu labels. If you cannot find the option, use the website steps above, which PureGym documents in full.
Cancel by email
PureGym's US membership agreement lists written notice by email as a cancellation method, and its FAQ sends members of three specific gyms to email for cancellations.
- Write to us.member.services@puregym.com from the email address on your membership.
- Say clearly that you are cancelling your membership, and include your full name, your gym and the date.
- Send it at least 7 business days before your next dues payment.
- Keep the sent email and wait for PureGym's email confirming receipt.
If you are a member of PureGym Columbia, Tysons Corner or Springfield, VA, PureGym says to use this email route to cancel.
Cancel by mail
PureGym's US membership agreement lets you cancel by the notice methods in its Notices section, which says written notices can be mailed to PureFitness at 6701 Frontier Road, Springfield, VA 22150.
- Write a signed letter saying you are cancelling your membership, with your full name, the email on your account and your gym.
- Mail it to PureFitness, 6701 Frontier Road, Springfield, VA 22150, using a tracked method.
- Send it early enough to arrive at least 7 business days before your next dues payment.
- Keep a copy and the mailing receipt, and look for PureGym's email confirming receipt.
Mail is slower than the member portal or email. Use it if you want a paper record or cannot get into your account.
What happens next?
- On a monthly membership, PureGym's agreement says it refunds the pro rata amount of any prepaid unused dues within ten business days after the cancellation takes effect. Joining fees are not refunded.
- The Annual Maintenance Fee is part of your dues under the PureGym US agreement, collected with your first month and annually after that. Check whether it is due before your cancellation takes effect.
- If you rejoin later, PureGym's agreement says new joining fees may be due.
- Deleting the PureGym app or the old Blink app does not cancel the membership.
Pausing or freezing Blink Fitness.
Can I freeze my Blink or PureGym membership?
Not under the PureGym US membership agreement we reviewed, which states that members are unable to freeze their membership. Check the version of the agreement you signed, and ask member services if you are unsure.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
I cannot log in after Blink became PureGym
PureGym's Blink transition FAQ says to double-check your email and password format, and if it still fails, to see the front desk. It also says your birthday must be correct in your member account to log in. If you cannot get in before your billing date, cancel by email to us.member.services@puregym.com instead, so your notice is dated.
I cancelled and was still charged
Compare your cancellation date with your dues date. PureGym asks for at least 7 business days' notice on a monthly membership, so a request inside that window can still be followed by a payment. Send member services your confirmation and ask for a correction if the charge falls after your notice period.
I was asked to pay a buy-out fee
PureGym says that if you are in a commitment, a 1-year obligation period, you may be required to pay a buy-out fee to cancel early. Its US agreement sets the fee for annual memberships cancelled before the end of the initial period and waives it for corporate members.
I cancelled my Blink camera subscription instead of my gym
They are separate companies. Blink camera plans are cancelled where they were bought: Blink's support site points to Amazon's Memberships & Subscriptions page, My Plan on Blink.com, or Subscriptions in your Apple settings. Your former Blink Fitness gym membership is cancelled with PureGym using the routes above.
