How to cancel Equinox membership.

Equinox lists logging into your account on Equinox.com as one of its cancellation methods. It is the quickest way to leave a dated record without visiting a club.

1. Go to equinox.com/account and sign in with the account that holds your membership.
2. Find your membership and follow the cancellation option through to the end.
3. Save the confirmation and note the effective date it shows.
4. Check the status afterwards in the EQX+ app under Membership & Billing.

Your notice period still applies. Equinox says notice periods vary by state and are set out in your Membership Agreement.

Equinox lists cancelling in club with a club manager as one of its methods. It is the route to use if you want to settle billing questions face to face.

1. Go to your club and ask to speak with a club manager.
2. Say that you are cancelling your membership, and ask when the cancellation takes effect under your Membership Agreement.
3. Ask whether any Personal Training, Pilates or Spa subscription programs on your account need cancelling too.
4. Ask for written confirmation of the cancellation and its effective date.

Equinox accepts cancellation by mail as described in your Membership Agreement. The agreement gives the address and any requirements for written notice.

1. Find the mailing instructions in your Membership Agreement. Concierge@equinox.com can send you a copy of the agreement.
2. Write a signed letter saying you are cancelling your membership, with your full name and home club.
3. Send it as your agreement describes, using a method with proof of delivery, and keep a copy.
4. Allow for your state's notice period from when Equinox receives it.

Equinox accepts cancellation requests by email to Cancellations@Equinox.com. Email gives you a timestamped record if anything is disputed later.

1. Email Cancellations@Equinox.com from the address on your membership.
2. Include your full name, your home club and your member barcode if you have it, and say you are cancelling your membership.
3. Ask for written confirmation of the cancellation and the date it takes effect.
4. Keep the sent email and the reply together.

Equinox lists cancelling by phone through Equinox Concierge as another method, and publishes the current Concierge phone number on Equinox.com.

1. Get the current Equinox Concierge number from Equinox.com.
2. Call and say that you are cancelling your membership, not freezing it.
3. Ask for the effective date and for written confirmation by email.
4. Note the date, time and the name of the person you spoke to.

Equinox+ is Equinox's digital service and has its own Service Membership, separate from a club membership. Equinox says an active club membership currently includes complimentary access to it, so this route is only for people who pay for Equinox+ on its own, including through the App Store or Google Play.

1. If you subscribed on the Equinox+ website, sign in at equinoxplus.com/account, select Cancel Membership and confirm.
2. You can also cancel by emailing hello@equinoxplus.com, or through the mobile app.
3. If you subscribed through Apple: open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Equinox+ and tap Cancel Subscription.
4. If you subscribed through Google Play: open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, choose Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, select Equinox+ and cancel.
5. Cancel before your next billing date to avoid the next month's fee.

Equinox+ terms say a Service Membership bought through a third party may need to be cancelled with that third party, for example by turning off auto-renew there.
