In this guide
Before you start.
- Find your Recharge Date. Mister's terms define it as the monthly anniversary of the day you signed up, or of the day the membership was first activated or used, whichever comes first. Count back 7 days from it: that is your real deadline.
- Have your barcode or Member Pass Number ready, plus the last 4 digits of the card the membership is billed to. You need both to link a membership bought at the wash to an online account, and linking comes before cancelling online.
- If you paid with Apple Pay or Google Pay, the last 4 digits Mister asks for are those of the Device Account Number, not the card printed in your wallet.
- Each Unlimited Wash Club plan covers one vehicle. If you have more than one car on plans, each membership is cancelled separately.
- If you are cancelling because you sold or traded in the car, do it now rather than later. Mister's terms say the card keeps being charged until you deactivate that vehicle's RFID sticker or move the plan to another vehicle.
How to find all your subscriptions How to cancel a membership
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Mister Car Wash, step by step.
Cancel online
This is the self-service route Mister documents in its Help Center. It only works for a membership that is linked to your online account, so linking is the first step for a plan bought at the wash.
- Log in at mistercarwash.com, or create an account.
- Click the Profile icon and go to Manage Memberships.
- If your membership is not listed, select Link Existing Membership, type in your Member Pass Number, choose the payment type, enter the last 4 digits of the card used and select Next.
- Select the membership you want to end, then select Edit Membership.
- Select Cancel Membership and choose a reason for cancelling.
- Scroll down and select Cancel My Membership. A confirmation pop up appears and Mister sends a cancellation email.
Keep the cancellation email. It is your proof of the date, which matters if a charge lands close to the 7 day deadline.
Cancel in the app
The Mister Car Wash app runs the same cancellation flow as the website. The only difference Mister describes is that Manage Memberships sits under the Account tab.
- Open the Mister Car Wash app and log in.
- Tap the Account tab and go to Manage Memberships.
- If your membership is not listed, tap Link Existing Membership and scan your barcode, then enter the payment type and the last 4 digits of the card used.
- Select the membership, then Edit Membership, then Cancel Membership.
- Choose a reason, scroll down and tap Cancel My Membership.
- Wait for the confirmation pop up and the confirmation email.
Cancel at any Mister Car Wash location
Mister's terms list visiting any location as a cancellation channel, and it is the practical route if you cannot link the membership online.
- Drive to any Mister Car Wash location, not necessarily the one where you signed up.
- Ask the Guest Service Specialist to cancel your Unlimited Wash Club membership.
- Give them your barcode or Member Pass Number. If you do not have it, Mister says to have your name, phone number, email or billing card details ready so they can find the membership.
- Ask for the cancellation to be confirmed by email before you leave.
Cancel by email
Mister's terms also accept cancellation by email to help@mistercarwash.com. It is the slowest route but leaves a written, dated record.
- Email help@mistercarwash.com from the address on your membership if you can.
- Say plainly that you want to cancel your Unlimited Wash Club membership, not pause or change it.
- Include details that identify the membership: your name, the Member Pass Number if you have it, and the last 4 digits of the card that is charged, which are the kind of details Mister's terms say it may ask for.
- Send it well before the 7 day cutoff, and keep the sent message until a cancellation confirmation arrives.
What happens next?
- The vehicle keeps its unlimited washes until the end of the billing period you already paid for. Mister's terms say access continues through the end of the current billing period.
- There is no refund for the rest of the month. Mister's terms state paid plan fees are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods.
- Cancelling the plan does not delete your online account. Mister says the account stays available and you keep receiving messages based on your communication preferences.
- You can reactivate later at any Mister location or online: under Manage Memberships, choose Activate on the old membership and confirm with Yes, Activate.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
I cancelled but was charged one more month
Check when you cancelled against your Recharge Date. Mister's terms require cancellation at least 7 days before the plan renews, so a cancellation inside that window still lets the next monthly charge go through. That is the expected result rather than a failed cancellation. If you cancelled earlier than that and have the confirmation email, send it to help@mistercarwash.com with the charge date.
My membership is not in Manage Memberships
A plan bought at the wash is not attached to your online account until you link it. Select Link Existing Membership, enter your Member Pass Number and the last 4 digits of the card used, then the Cancel Membership option appears under Edit Membership. If you cannot find the Member Pass Number, cancel at any location instead.
I sold the car and I am still being charged
Selling the vehicle does not stop the plan. Mister's terms say the card continues to be charged until you deactivate that RFID sticker or transfer the membership to another vehicle at a location. Cancel the membership online or at a location, or move it to your new car, and remove the sticker from the old windshield.
The charge on my statement says MCW and a store number
That is how Mister bills. Its terms say charges appear as Mister Car Wash or MCW with the number of the store where the plan was bought or redeemed. Use the store number to work out which membership, and which car, the charge belongs to.
My plan has an old car wash brand name
Mister's terms mention Acquired Brand Plans at recently acquired locations, which run until the site is rebranded. The terms say these plans can be cancelled through the same channels: your account, the website, any location or by email.
Still not cancelled?Common reasons a subscription will not cancel
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How do I cancel my Mister Car Wash membership?
Log in on the website or the app, open Manage Memberships, select the membership, choose Edit Membership, then Cancel Membership, pick a reason and tap Cancel My Membership. You can also cancel at any Mister location or by emailing help@mistercarwash.com.
How many days before billing do I need to cancel Mister Car Wash?
At least 7 days before the plan renews. Mister's terms say a later cancellation does not avoid the charge for the next monthly cycle.
Can I cancel my Mister Car Wash membership online?
Yes, once the membership is linked to your online account. Linking needs your barcode or Member Pass Number and the last 4 digits of the card on file.
Do I have to go back to the location where I signed up?
No. Mister's terms say you can cancel at any Mister Car Wash location, as well as online or by email.
Will Mister Car Wash refund the rest of my month?
No. The terms state plan fees are nonrefundable with no credits for partial periods, and the car keeps unlimited washes until the paid period ends.
Can I move my membership to a new car instead of cancelling?
Yes. Visit any Mister location so the team can update your account and put a new RFID sticker on the new vehicle. A plan cannot be passed to another person.
