In this guide
Before you start.
- Work out your Canal de Venda before anything else. Globoplay's terms state that the billing relationship for your subscription is between you and the sales channel you chose, and that you accepted that channel's own contract and policies when you subscribed. Everything about your cancellation follows from which channel that is.
- Globoplay's US App Store listing sells a single plan called Globoplay (Internacional), which is a different product from the Brazilian plans. Content differs too: the terms state that what is available inside Brazil differs from what is available outside it, at Globo's sole discretion.
- In Brazil the paid plans on sale are Padrao com Anuncios (standard with ads) and Premium. The terms also name Basico and Padrao as plans still running for existing subscribers but no longer sold, so an older subscription may sit on a plan you cannot find on the site.
- If your access comes through a pay-TV operator under the SEAC rules, Globo says the operator is responsible for billing, customer service and collection, and that Globo has no involvement in what the operator provides. That access ends when the operator subscription ends.
- Cancelling affects everyone on the account. The terms say that if the subscription holder cancels the paid service, the profiles and any Conta Familia dependants lose access automatically and without prior notice, and that a dependant's account cannot be restored afterwards.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Globoplay, step by step.
Cancel a subscription billed by Globo
Use this when Globo itself is the sales channel, which is the case for a subscription taken on globoplay.globo.com with a card or another Globo payment method. Cancellation lives in the Conta Globo account area rather than inside the player.
- Sign in to your Conta Globo at minhaconta.globo.com with the account that holds the subscription.
- Open the subscriptions area (Assinaturas).
- Select the Globoplay subscription you want to end.
- Follow the cancellation flow through to a confirmation.
- Keep the confirmation: Globo publishes a help article for the status Cod I-1007-C, sua assinatura esta em cancelamento (your subscription is being cancelled), which is the state a subscription enters after this step.
Globo also accepts Pix Automatico as a payment method. A Pix Automatico authorisation may need to be revoked in your bank app as well, which is a separate action from cancelling the subscription.
Cancel an Apple subscription
Where the App Store is your Canal de Venda, Apple bills you and Apple runs the cancellation. This is the common route for the Globoplay (Internacional) plan bought on an iPhone or iPad outside Brazil.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Globoplay from the list.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.
If Globoplay is not listed, you are signed in with a different Apple Account than the one that paid, or Globo or another channel billed you instead.
Cancel a Google Play subscription
Where Google Play is your Canal de Venda, Google holds the billing and the cancellation happens in the Play Store.
- Open the Google Play Store app on the Android device you subscribed on.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right.
- Select Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select Globoplay.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts to confirm.
Google states that it cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf: the account holder has to complete this.
Cancel access that comes through a pay-TV operator
Globoplay is also reached through pay-TV operators under the Brazilian SEAC rules. Globo's terms are blunt about the division of responsibility here: the operator handles commercialisation, customer service, billing and collection, and Globo has no involvement in it.
- Contact your pay-TV operator, the same company that bills your television package.
- Ask to cancel the Globoplay component, or the package that carries it.
- If you are cancelling the television service entirely, no separate Globoplay step is needed: the terms say Globoplay access ends when the operator service is cancelled or terminated.
- Check afterwards that no second, directly billed Globoplay subscription is running on the same Conta Globo.
The terms add a related warning: if Globo finds that a user is not in fact a subscriber of an operator that offers the service, it may cancel that access without prior notice.
What happens next?
- Cancelling stops the renewal with the channel that billed you. Access normally runs to the end of the period already paid for, under that channel's own rules rather than Globo's.
- Profiles and Conta Familia dependants lose access at the same moment as the holder. The terms say this happens automatically and without prior notice, and that a dependant's account cannot be restored later.
- Conta Familia is no longer sold and is available only to holders who already created one. If you cancel and later resubscribe, expect to come back to profiles rather than to a family account.
- Where your Canal de Venda stops selling Globoplay, Globo says it will notify you and you may choose a different channel. That is a change of billing route, not an automatic cancellation.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
There is no cancel button anywhere in the Globoplay app
That is expected when a store or an operator is your Canal de Venda. Globoplay's terms put the billing relationship between you and the sales channel, so the app has nothing to cancel. Check who the charge comes from: Apple, Google, Globo itself or a pay-TV operator, and cancel there.
Globoplay says I already have this subscription on another Conta Globo
Globo publishes dedicated help articles for exactly this, under codes such as E-1004 and AE-5018, both worded as you already have this subscription on another Conta Globo. It means the subscription is attached to a different Globo account from the one you are signed in to, often an older email. Find the account that holds the charge and cancel from there, rather than starting a new subscription on the account you are using.
My subscription shows as being cancelled but it is still active
Globo has a published status for this: Cod I-1007-C, sua assinatura esta em cancelamento. A subscription in that state has been cancelled but is still running out the period you paid for, which is why it keeps working. It is also why Globo blocks some plan changes while a cancellation is pending, with its own code E-1016.
I cancelled my pay-TV package and lost Globoplay too
That follows from the terms rather than being a fault. Globo states that if the pay-TV service from your operator is cancelled or ends, the user loses access to the service content. Globoplay access under an operator is a benefit of that television subscription, not a standalone plan, so the only way to keep Globoplay is to subscribe to it directly afterwards.
My payment failed and I do not know whether the subscription ended
A failed payment is not a cancellation. Globo publishes a long series of payment-error articles, including a set for authorisation failures with particular banks, and a suspended-subscription code E-1002. A subscription in one of those states is still on file, and will resume charging once a working payment method is in place. If you meant to leave, cancel it explicitly.
Still not cancelled?Common reasons a subscription will not cancel How to cancel an app subscription
GOOD TO KNOW
Questions, answered.
How do I cancel Globoplay?
Cancel through the channel that bills you, which Globoplay's terms call the Canal de Venda. For a Globo-billed subscription, sign in to your Conta Globo at minhaconta.globo.com and cancel in the subscriptions area. For Apple: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Globoplay, Cancel Subscription. For Google Play: Play Store, profile icon, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, Globoplay, Cancel subscription. For a pay-TV operator, contact the operator.
Is Globoplay Internacional the same subscription as the Brazilian one?
No. The US App Store listing sells a single plan named Globoplay (Internacional), and Globo publishes separate terms of use for Globoplay Internacional. The terms also say the content available inside Brazil differs from the content available outside it.
Do my profiles keep working if I cancel?
No. Globoplay's terms state that when the subscription holder cancels the paid service, the profiles lose access automatically and without prior notice. The same applies to Conta Familia dependants, and their accounts cannot be restored afterwards.
Can I cancel Globoplay if I got it through my TV operator?
Only through that operator. Globo's terms make the operator responsible for commercialisation, customer service, billing and collection, and state that Globo has no involvement in the services an operator provides to its subscribers.
What happens to a plan that is no longer sold?
The terms say the Basico and Padrao plans are still available to existing subscribers but are not currently offered for sale. A subscription on one of those continues, but if you cancel it you cannot return to that plan later.
Does deleting the Globoplay app cancel the subscription?
No. The subscription lives with your Canal de Venda, whether that is Globo, a store or an operator, and removing the app does not reach any of them.
