STREAMINGSubscription cancellation guide

How to cancel UP Faith & Family subscription.

UP Faith & Family is sold through six or more channels and each one cancels in its own place. If you subscribed directly on the website, there are two routes: the Customer Portal, where you enter your email address, open the login link emailed to you, select Manage Subscription and toggle off the subscription, then click Save Changes; or the automated phone line on 1-470-447-0882. If you subscribed through Apple, Google Play, Roku, Amazon Prime Video, Android TV or Vizio, UP states the cancellation has to be completed there, and says plainly for Roku that it is unable to cancel the subscription for you. UP also states that a Prime Video subscription cannot be cancelled through the UP Faith & Family app or website.

Before you start.

  • Identify who bills you first, since UP publishes separate instructions for Apple, Google Play and Android TV, Roku, Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Fire TV, Vizio and its own website.
  • The Customer Portal login is passwordless. UP states you enter your email address, select Continue, and then check your inbox for an email with your login link, so have access to that mailbox before you start.
  • If you cannot find the subscription, UP asks for either the email address associated with your account or the last four digits of the card being charged, and says its support team will help locate the account.
  • Note that UP cannot cancel store subscriptions for you. For Roku, UP states it is unable to cancel the subscription and that you will need to do it from your device manually.
  • For a Prime Video subscription, UP states you must cancel through Amazon if you subscribed there, and that cancellations cannot be processed through the UP Faith & Family app or website.

FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE

Cancel UP Faith & Family, step by step.

Cancel in the Customer Portal

Use this if you subscribed directly on the UP Faith & Family website. The portal uses an emailed link rather than a password.

  1. Go to the Customer Portal login page.
  2. Enter your email address and select Continue.
  3. Check your inbox for an email with your secure login link.
  4. Open the link to access your Customer Portal.
  5. Select Manage Subscription.
  6. Toggle off the subscription you would like to cancel.
  7. Click Save Changes.

The toggle is the cancellation, so leaving the page without saving leaves the subscription running. Check the portal again afterwards to confirm the subscription shows as cancelled.

Cancel by phone

UP documents an automated phone cancellation as an equal alternative to the portal, which is useful when the emailed login link does not arrive.

  1. Call 1-470-447-0882.
  2. Follow the prompts to complete the automated cancellation process.
  3. Note the date and time of the call, and keep any confirmation you are given.

Cancel a subscription Apple bills

UP states that a subscription taken through the Apple TV or tvOS app is managed directly by Apple, so cancellations must be completed in your Apple account settings.

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Tap your name or Apple ID at the top of the screen.
  3. Select Subscriptions.
  4. Locate and tap your UP Faith & Family subscription.
  5. Select Cancel Subscription.

Cancel a subscription billed through Amazon Prime Video

UP publishes this as its own article and is explicit that the UP app and website cannot cancel it.

  1. On a smart TV or mobile: open the Amazon Prime Video app, go to Subscriptions or Channels, locate UP Faith & Family, select Cancel Subscription and confirm.
  2. On a computer: go to Amazon.com and open the menu, the three lines next to All, in the top-left corner.
  3. Select Your Account and scroll to Memberships and Subscriptions.
  4. Click Other Subscriptions.
  5. Locate UP Faith & Family and select Cancel Your Subscription.

UP states that your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period, that you will not be billed again unless you resubscribe, and that you must cancel through Amazon if you subscribed there.

Cancel a subscription Roku bills

UP states it is unable to cancel a Roku subscription for you, and that you need to do it from your device manually.

  1. Sign in at my.roku.com and go to your subscriptions.
  2. Select the UP Faith & Family subscription.
  3. Select Manage subscription, then turn off auto-renew or unsubscribe.
  4. Confirm, and check the entry shows an end date rather than a renewal date.

Cancel a subscription Google Play bills

UP points Google Play and Android device subscribers to Google's own cancellation process.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app, or go to play.google.com.
  2. Tap or click your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Select the UP Faith & Family subscription.
  4. Tap or click Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.

What happens next?

  • Access continues to the end of the current billing period. UP states this for a Prime Video subscription, and it is the standard pattern for the other channels too.
  • UP states that after cancelling you will not be billed again unless you resubscribe.
  • A cancellation in one channel does not touch a subscription in another. If you have signed up twice over the years, each one needs cancelling where it was bought.
  • Cancelling the subscription does not delete your UP account or viewing history.
  • If the emailed portal login never arrives, the phone line is a complete alternative rather than a fallback for part of the process.

WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK

If you get stuck.

The Customer Portal login email never arrived

The portal has no password, so without the emailed link there is no way in. Check the spam folder and confirm you used the address the subscription was bought under. If it still does not arrive, use the automated phone line on 1-470-447-0882, which UP documents as a full alternative, or contact UP support with the email address on the account or the last four digits of the card being charged.

I toggled off my subscription but it is still active

The portal requires a save. UP's steps end with Click Save Changes after toggling off the subscription, so a toggle left unsaved does not cancel anything. Log back into the portal and confirm the subscription now shows as cancelled rather than active.

I cancelled in the UP app but Amazon keeps charging me

UP addresses this directly for Prime Video: you must cancel through Amazon if you subscribed there, and cancellations cannot be processed through the UP Faith & Family app or website. Go to Your Account on Amazon, then Memberships and Subscriptions, then Other Subscriptions, find UP Faith & Family and cancel it there.

UP support told me it cannot cancel my subscription

For a Roku subscription that is accurate. UP states it is unable to cancel a Roku subscription and that you will need to do it from your device manually. The same applies to Apple, Google Play and Amazon: those companies bill the subscription, so only their settings can stop it. UP support can still help you identify which channel holds it.

I cannot find my subscription anywhere

UP's own advice is to contact its support team with the email address associated with your account, or the last four digits of the card being charged, and it will help locate the account. The card digits route is the useful one when you have forgotten which email address you used, and the merchant name on that same statement line will tell you which store to cancel in.
