In this guide
Before you start.
- Check the merchant name on your card or bank statement first. Apple or Google means a store holds the subscription and the Now That's TV website cannot cancel it.
- Cancel with at least a day in hand. Now That's TV states that subscription payments automatically renew unless deactivated at least 24 hours before the end of the current cycle, and that the account is charged for renewal at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current cycle.
- Expect a monthly cycle. Now That's TV states you can subscribe on a monthly basis with an auto-renewing subscription, so the renewal comes round every month rather than annually.
- If you are inside a free trial, cancel before it converts. Now That's TV states that any unused portion of your free trial will be forfeited upon payment.
- Note that pricing varies. Now That's TV states that pricing can vary by region and will be confirmed before purchase in the app.
FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE
Cancel Now That's TV, step by step.
Cancel a subscription Apple bills
The App Store listing for Now That's TV states that payments go through your iTunes account and that cancellations happen by disabling auto-renewal, so this is the route for anyone who subscribed in the iOS app.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select the Now That's TV subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription, and confirm if prompted.
Now That's TV states that subscriptions automatically renew unless deactivated at least 24 hours before the end of the current cycle, so do this a day or more before the renewal date rather than on it.
Cancel a subscription Google Play bills
The Android app sells the same auto-renewing subscription, and Google Play holds the billing for it.
- Open the Google Play Store app, or go to play.google.com.
- Tap or click your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Select the Now That's TV subscription.
- Tap or click Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription, because it belongs to your Google account rather than to the device.
Cancel a subscription bought on the website
Use this when the charge comes from Now That's TV rather than from a store, which means you subscribed at nowthatstv.net.
- Sign in at nowthatstv.net with the email address on your subscription receipt.
- Open your account or profile settings.
- Find the subscription or billing section, where the plan and renewal date are shown.
- Use the cancellation option there and follow the prompts to the end.
- Check that the account then shows an expiry date rather than a next billing date.
If no cancellation option appears in the account, contact Now That's TV support and ask for the subscription to be cancelled, keeping the written reply and the date.
Cancel a subscription Roku or Amazon bills
The service is carried on streaming devices too, and a subscription bought on one belongs to that device's store.
- Check the merchant name on your statement to confirm who charges you.
- If it reads Roku, sign in at my.roku.com, open your subscriptions and turn off auto-renew.
- If it reads Amazon, cancel it in your Amazon subscriptions list.
- Confirm the entry shows an end date rather than a renewal date.
What happens next?
- Access continues to the end of the month you have already paid for, which is how both stores handle a cancelled subscription.
- Cancelling turns off the renewal rather than refunding the current cycle.
- Now That's TV states that any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited upon payment, so a converted trial is not partially refundable.
- Your account is not deleted by cancelling, so resubscribing later uses the same sign-in.
- A cancelled App Store or Play Store subscription keeps appearing in that store's list with an expiry date until the period ends, which is normal rather than a failed cancellation.
WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK
If you get stuck.
There is no cancel option inside the Now That's TV app
For a store-billed subscription there is not meant to be one. Now That's TV states that all payments are paid through your iTunes account and may be managed under Account Settings after the initial payment, and that cancellations are incurred by disabling auto-renewal. On iOS the control is in Settings under Subscriptions, and on Android it is in the Play Store subscriptions list.
I cancelled and was charged the next day
The charge is initiated before the cycle ends. Now That's TV states that subscriptions automatically renew unless deactivated at least 24 hours before the end of the current cycle, and that the account is charged for renewal at least 24 hours prior to the end of the cycle. Cancelling on the renewal day itself lands after the charge has started, so it applies to the following month instead.
I cannot find the subscription in my store account
Either a different store bills it, or a different account within the same store does. Compare the merchant name and the last four card digits on your statement against each Apple ID or Google account in the household. If the merchant is neither Apple nor Google, the subscription was taken on the website and is cancelled in your account there.
I deleted the app and the charges continued
Deleting an app never cancels a subscription, because the subscription lives in the store account rather than on the device. You do not need to reinstall: go to Settings then Subscriptions on iOS, or the Play Store subscriptions list on Android, and cancel the entry from there.
My free trial converted and I lost the remaining days
Now That's TV states that any unused portion of your free trial will be forfeited upon payment, so there is no credit for trial days once the subscription has converted. The practical rule is to cancel at least a day before the trial ends, which stops the charge while leaving the trial running to its end in the usual store behaviour.
