STREAMINGSubscription cancellation guide

How to cancel WOW Presents Plus subscription.

WOW Presents Plus is billed either by World of Wonder through the website, or by Apple if you subscribed inside the iOS app. Apple's version is explicit in WOW's own App Store listing: all payments are paid through your iTunes account and may be managed under Account Settings after the initial payment, and cancellations are incurred by disabling auto-renewal. There is no cancel button inside the app for those. If you subscribed at wowpresentsplus.com, sign in and open your account settings, where the subscription and its renewal date live, and cancel from there. The deadline to know: WOW states that subscription payments automatically renew unless deactivated at least 24 hours before the end of the current cycle, and that your account is charged for renewal at least 24 hours prior to the end of that cycle.

Before you start.

  • Work out who bills you. Check the merchant name on your card or bank statement: Apple means the App Store holds the subscription, and anything else points to the website.
  • Note the 24 hour deadline. WOW states that subscription payments automatically renew unless deactivated at least 24 hours before the end of the current cycle, and that the account is charged for renewal at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current cycle. Cancelling on the renewal day is too late.
  • Check whether you are on a monthly or a yearly plan. WOW states you can subscribe on a monthly or yearly basis with an auto-renewing subscription, and a yearly plan renews for another full year.
  • Note that pricing varies. WOW states that pricing can vary by region and will be confirmed before purchase in the app.
  • The website subscription runs on Vimeo OTT, so the account email on your receipt is the one to sign in with. A receipt that does not come from Apple is the sign that WOW bills you directly.

FOLLOW THE RIGHT BILLING ROUTE

Cancel WOW Presents Plus, step by step.

Cancel a subscription Apple bills

WOW's own App Store listing states that payments go through your iTunes account and that cancellations happen by disabling auto-renewal, so this is the route for anyone who subscribed inside the app.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name at the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Select the WOW Presents Plus subscription.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription, and confirm if prompted.

WOW states that subscription payments automatically renew unless deactivated at least 24 hours before the end of the current cycle, so turn auto-renewal off with at least a day to spare.

Cancel a subscription bought on the WOW Presents Plus website

Use this when WOW bills your card directly rather than Apple. The controls are in your account rather than in the player.

  1. Sign in at wowpresentsplus.com with the email address on your subscription receipt.
  2. Open your account settings from the account or profile menu.
  3. Find the subscription or billing section, where the plan and its renewal date are shown.
  4. Use the cancellation option there and follow the prompts to the end.
  5. Check that the account then shows an expiry date rather than a next billing date.

If the account area does not offer a cancellation, contact WOW Presents Plus support and ask for the subscription to be cancelled, keeping the written reply and the date.

Cancel a subscription another store bills

WOW Presents Plus is available on streaming devices as well, and a subscription bought on one of those belongs to that store.

  1. Check the merchant name on your statement to confirm which company charges you.
  2. If it reads Roku, sign in at my.roku.com, open your subscriptions and turn off auto-renew for WOW Presents Plus.
  3. If it reads Amazon, cancel it in your Amazon subscriptions list.
  4. If it reads Google, cancel it in the Google Play subscriptions list.
  5. Confirm the entry shows an end date rather than a renewal date.

What happens next?

  • Access continues to the end of the cycle you have already paid for, which is the standard behaviour for both the App Store and the website subscription.
  • Cancelling turns off the renewal rather than refunding the current cycle.
  • A yearly plan cancelled part way through still runs to its anniversary, because what you stop is the next renewal.
  • Your account and viewing history are not deleted by cancelling, so resubscribing later picks up the same account.
  • A cancelled App Store subscription keeps showing in Apple's subscriptions list with an expiry date until the period ends, which is not a sign the cancellation failed.

WHEN IT DOES NOT WORK

If you get stuck.

There is no cancel option inside the WOW Presents Plus app

For an Apple-billed subscription there is not supposed to be one. WOW's App Store listing states that all payments are paid through your iTunes account and may be managed under Account Settings after the initial payment, and that cancellations are incurred by disabling auto-renewal. The control is in your device's Settings app under Subscriptions rather than anywhere in WOW.

I cancelled and was charged anyway

The deadline sits a day before the renewal. WOW states that subscription payments automatically renew unless deactivated at least 24 hours before the end of the current cycle, and that your account is charged for renewal at least 24 hours prior to the end of the cycle. A cancellation made on the last day of the cycle lands after the charge has been set in motion.

I cannot find my subscription in my account

Two usual causes. You may be signed in with a different email address than the one on the subscription receipt, so check the receipt. Or Apple holds the subscription, in which case it never appears in the WOW account at all and lives in your Apple subscriptions list instead. The merchant name on your bank statement settles which it is.

I deleted the app and the charges continued

Deleting an app does not cancel a subscription, because the subscription belongs to the Apple account rather than the device. Open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions and cancel the entry there. The same applies to Roku, Amazon and Google Play subscriptions in their own accounts.

My yearly subscription renewed and I wanted to stop months ago

A yearly plan gives no monthly warning, so the renewal arrives a full year after sign-up with only the store's standard notice. WOW states that in-app subscriptions automatically renew at the end of their cycle unless auto-renewal is deactivated at least 24 hours beforehand. Cancelling now stops the following year rather than returning this one, and the published terms do not provide a refund for it.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions, answered.

How do I cancel WOW Presents Plus?

If you subscribed in the iOS app, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select WOW Presents Plus and tap Cancel Subscription. If you subscribed on the website, sign in at wowpresentsplus.com and cancel in your account settings.

When do I need to cancel to avoid the next charge?

WOW states that subscriptions automatically renew unless deactivated at least 24 hours before the end of the current cycle, and that the account is charged for renewal at least 24 hours prior to the end of that cycle. Cancel at least a full day ahead.

Do I keep access after cancelling?

Yes, until the end of the cycle you have paid for. Cancelling stops the renewal rather than ending the current period.

Can I cancel an Apple subscription through WOW support?

No. WOW states that payments made through your iTunes account are managed under your Apple Account Settings and that cancellations are incurred by disabling auto-renewal there, so Apple's subscription settings are the only place that stops the charge.
